Jaya Bhattacharya to enter Madhubala!
As Raju’s taijee, Jaya Bhattacharya is getting ready to be the rough and tough mother-in-law for Madhu.
Versatile actress Jaya Bhattacharya is the latest entry to the Colors show Madhubala – Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon produced by Nautanki Telefilms. The show which has made lots of changes and saw many exits recently is all set to get its viewership back. It has so far managed to do so with the track of Raju (Vivian Dsena) and Madhu (Drashti Dhami) getting closer after Raju gets better and starts taking decisions as an adult.
To further develop this story the couple will now set off to meet Raju’s family and Jaya Bhattacharya will be seen playing his Taijee (elder paternal aunt). She has replaced Shalini Arora for the same. Telling us more about her character Jaya says, “Today is just the second day of my shoot so I don’t know much but I can tell you that we are shown to be a family based somewhere in Madhya Pradesh. Me and my husband have taken care of Raju since the age of 12 when he lost his parents. He has been mentally affected since somebody has tried to kill him which is still a mystery. When he returns back to us he is completely okay and married too it comes as a big surprise but is a big thing for us.”
Jaya’s character known as Baijee will now be playing Madhu’s mother-in-law and there sure will be things which will spice up the story. So do we expect her to play the typical saas in the show further? “Well, Baijee loves Raju to bits since she has raised him as her own son and now he is totally smitten by his wife Madhu. Baijee has two daughters of her own but it is Raju who is the apple of the eye for her and her husband. The village that we stay in is set in is very traditional bounded by typical traditions which mean that men are the decision makers whereas women are doormats. The ladies of the family have to accept this fact and respect it too. Madhu will be new to all this and as the seniormost member of the family I will have to teach her to follow the rules of the clan which might be a bit difficult for her which might lead to some friction.”
Recently there has been news that Madhubala may soon go off air. Is Jaya not worried about the same? “Not at all. I am very optimistic as a person and not at all a pessimist so I don’t ever look at the glass as being half empty. The show has gone through trouble but this new twist just might work. I have my role in Bharat ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap too but it requires only little time from me and I wanted to take up something new so this is exciting,” says the bindaas Jaya.
Jaya’s entry is scheduled for tonight and along with Jaya two new entries – Sheetal Thakkar and Shraddha Jaiswal will enter as her daughters while Jaswant Menaria plays her son-in-law.
