Jay Soni adds-on to his ‘acting knowledge’ by attending acting workshop

Jay Soni, who started his career as the adorable Jigar in Baa Bahu Aur Baby, has today made a mark in the television industry with his challenging portrayals that of an innocent boy-next –door Ishaan in Sasural Genda Phooland the well-educated boy rooted to his family values in Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki.

However, Jay feels that he has miles to go before he can rest, when it comes to acquiring knowledge. The actor recently took part in an acting workshop conducted by acclaimed theatre personality, Neeraj Kavi.

Says the actor, “This was a 10 day workshop, and trust me I have transformed into a better individual in all ways after learning here. I believe I am not yet an actor and I need to acquire quite a lot of knowledge to get a hold on my acting capabilities. And this workshop has only helped me in gaining knowledge about various intricacies involved in acting.”

Jay who usually does not prefer to do episodic stories will be seen in Zing’s Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya along with Vrinda Dawda. “This is a one-off case, as Vikas (Gupta) is a very dear friend. Also when I was narrated the story, I simply could not refuse it. However, this does not mean that I am open to episodics. I do not believe in taking up such roles.”

Jay now wants to concentrate on movies. “Yes, I am aiming at movies, but I am open to television too. But I will be taking up something on TV only if the role has meat and is challenging enough.”
