It’s not love…but “arranged marriage” for Ekta Kaul and Kanan Malhotra

A lot has been reported in the media about Kanan Malhotra’s relationship with Chahat Khanna (Bade Achhe Lagte Hain fame). Then after Kanan’s break up with Chahat, the actor went on to share lovey dovey moments with his co star from the show Rab Se Sona Ishq (Zee TV)…Ekta Kaul. And later the duo decided to enter the engagement phase of the relationship.

For the unititiated, let’s get into the depth of the matter.

It was also reported that Ekta and Kanan, got engaged in London wheile they were shooing for the show. Bur Kanan struck a different note when we quizzed him about it.

“No…not at all. We are having a Roka ceremony in Delhi on 11 November and I am very excited about it. We shall be officially engaged in February 2013 followed by marriage at the end of the year.”

But what shocked us was his this statement. “It’s not a love marriage but an arranged one between me and Ekta. While we were shooting, our parents had talks about our marriage and formally decided on the matrimony. Both Ekta and me were totally unaware of this development and when our parents asked us about the relation, both of us mutually agreed to this commitment and decided to go ahead in life in togetherness. On the whole, it’s a well-planned arranged marriage.”

Hmm…now that is quite a revelation.

Furthermore, he goes on to observe, “I am very lucky to have a girl like Ekta, she is very loving and caring. Moreover, she is a gem of a human being. I am blessed to have her as my life partner. I feel completely settled.”

Well…we won’t dig deep on Kanan’s version of the relationship a lot…but would just like to wish him and Ekta a great life ahead!!!
