The very cute and bubbly Mansi Srivastava, who plays Shivani in Film Farm Productions’ popular show Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se on Zee TV, had thought of becoming an actor since her childhood days. Mansi shares more about her journey as Shivani, her life and her future plans in a candid conversation with us.

Let’s see what Mansi has to share with us…

How has been your journey playing the role Shivani in the show Do Dil Bandhe Dori Se so far?
It’s been very good; its three months now and everything is settled well. Now that Shivani is married to Raghu (Arhaan Behll) in the show, I am really enjoying the current track and it’s good to play a bahu at an early age (chuckles). It’s really nice the way the story is moving forward and shaping up. The innocent phase of Shivani is now over and now she is getting to learn new things post marriage which is making me to like the character more and it is a learning experience for me as well.

In what ways are you related to Shivani?
Shivani is a very innocent girl. She doesn’t know anything about the world. I would say that I am innocent like Shivani but I can distinguish between good and bad.

Was it difficult for you to get yourself involved into the character of Shivani?
No, it wasn’t very difficult! Shivani’s character is innocent, bubbly and very protective. I am also a single child of my parents. I am stubborn but not an over protective child; I am an independent woman. Getting myself involved in Shivani’s character has been quite fun and a learning experience for me.

How do you bond with everyone on the sets?
We all have bonded very well with each other in this short span of 3 months. All my co-stars are very good and I like all of them. We do lots of fun while doing some scenes too. Sometimes it happens that someone laughs while doing a scene which makes others laugh too but we have to control ourselves and do the scene. We all have become very good friends.

Was becoming an actor in your mind since your childhood days?
Yes, it was! I used to imitate everyone and do weird things and keep staring at myself while standing in front of the mirror. I was a commerce student and I used to do theater while I was in college. I have always wished to be on TV as an actor and this craze made me to come to Mumbai.

What are your interests other than acting?
I love painting; I paint landscape images and portraits. I paint when I am not in a good mood because painting uplifts my mood. I am fond of reading and being a big fan of Harry Potter and Twilight, I have read all the books of them. Though I hardly get time out of my busy schedule but if I do get, then I also love to go out with my friends on the beach side or some other good places.

Do you think that Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se is going to be a turning point of your career?
Yes, I do believe! I started thinking the same day when I gave an audition for the show that if I bag this show, then it will be a turning point of my career. It’s all good in the past three months and hoping for the good in future too.

Your presence on social media?
I am not on Twitter but I am on Facebook. I am not that much active on Facebook; I have my friends and relatives added on Facebook so sometimes I go on Facebook to interact with them.

What are your plans to get into movies?
I have already done a movie titled ’27’ which is expected to get released by the end of this year. It’s a Hindi movie. I am waiting for the movie to get released.

Message to your fans?
Watch my show and give me your feedback. I am planning to create a Facebook page for you all where I can get your feedback and interact with you all.
