It’s “campaigning time” for Hrishikesh Pandey
Hrishikesh Pandey, aka Sachin of CID, is quite happy with his journey in this long-running Sony Entertainment Television cop drama.
“It is one of the best things on television at the moment. What I really like about this B P Singh produced show (Fireworks) is that every character has got something to do e.g. Daya (Dayanand Shetty) has his own characteristics and ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) also does his own thing. My body language is stylish and sophisticated. Also as we have characters of all groups; (ACP, senior inspectors and then juniors) it makes for interesting viewing.”
Hrishikesh, who has now been in CID for the past two years says, “Many people ask me as to ‘how do you fit in the old crowd who have been there for years?’ It was easy, for I know the production house, as I have earlier worked with them in CID Special Bureau. I am also on friendly terms with Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava) and Dayanand (we share same birthday). The best compliment that I have received from the channel and outsiders is that ‘you mix very well with the old cast and don’t look out of place’. Now, I have fans ranging from those between 4 to 80 years who say that they love my work.”
Not many people know Hrishikesh has been in the industry for eleven long years. “I began by playing a lead in Balaji‘s Koi Apna Sa and did one more show with them. I then shifted to Cinevistaas and did Saaksshi with Mouli Ganguly and Sameer Soni.”
He has also done Piya Ka Ghar (Narayani Shastri and Aloknath) and Kamini Damini (Hema Malini). “Before CID, I worked in Vivah and Do Saheliyaan for Zee TV.”
Hrishikesh feels that one of the main reasons why he has not been in much circulation, despite doing a lot of work, is that he, has till date, never gone out of his way to canvass for himself. “I also don’t attend parties and awards functions. I just do my work and go home. Many of my friends, who have done just one or two shows, have been noticed more than once. I think it is time I did something about it,” he remarks.
Way to go…Hrishikesh!!!
