Surya tastes Imlie’s prepared sambar and says something is missing in it. Imlie blabbers and asks what he wants. Surya says Imlie. Imlie feels awkward. He says he means tamarind. Maid informs him that everyone is calling him out to cut a cake. Anjali, Malti, and Nirmala return home and recall Raghu telling that Surya’s enemies killed Agastya mistaking him as Surya, so Surya feels guilty that Imlie’s life is ruined because of him and hence married Imlie. They walk into home and notice decoration. Mahesh says they came at the right time to celebrate Surya’s birthday. Indira notices Agastya’s named cake in kitchen and gets angry. Anjali tells Nirmala that Surya has misunderstanding and she will clear it. She tells Surya that she needs to talk and takes him aside. Indira calls him and he walks towards kitchen. Indira yells at Imlie for preparing Agastya’s named cake and throws it in dustbin. Imlie stands crying. Surya notices that.
Nirmala calls Surya to come and cut the cake. She praises Hemalatha for ordering a beautiful cake. Mahesh says he ordered it. Surya writes Agastya’s name with his name on a cake. Indira yells at Imlie for brainwashing Surya to write her first husband’s name on cake. Imlie says she didn’t tell him anything. Indira continues. Surya says Imlie didn’t say anything, she is irritating as she always tells truth, Agastya is not only Imlie’s ex-husband but also his twin brother who used to look exactly like him, Indira would have celebrate both brothers’ birthday if Agastya was alive. Indira asks him to cheer up and cut the cake. Surya cuts cake and feeds it to Imlie.
Nirmala tells Anjali that Surya is overcaring for Imlie out of guilt and will not listen to her. Surya walks to Anjali and asks what she wanted to say. Anjali takes him to her room and shows him Raghu’s bail papers. Surya gets angry and questions why did she do that. Anjali says he should be happy that she used her father’s contacts and bailed his sister’s husband out. Surya says there is some other reason. Anjali says he wasn’t tell the reason behind marrying Imlie, so she had to bail out Raghu to know the reason. She asks why is he feeling guilty when he is not at fault for Agastya’s dead. Surya stops her and says Imlie shouldn’t find out that he is responsible for Agastya’s death.
Imlie hears that and drops a plate in shock. Surya opens room door and notices her. He tries to calm her down. Imlie panics, accuses him of murdering Agastya, and beats him with a cane till he bleeds. Indira stops her. Imlie says her son is a murder in police uniform and leaves from there. Indira nurses Surya’s injury. Anjali reveals the whole story. Hemalatha asks if he married Imlie for that reason. Indira says Imlie is mad and will blame him for her ex-husband’s death for sure. Imlie drives her bicycle recalling Surya’s confession and falls down. She imagines her inner voice who says her present husband killed her ex-husband. Imlie says Surya is not her husband. Inner voice asks why is she wearing his named sindhoor then, fate always plays a game with her, one who wiped her sindhoor applied sindhoor to her hairline, her sindhoor is her August babu’s blood. Imlie wipes her sindhoor.
Precap: Voiceover says Imlie learnt that Surya is Agastya’s murderer, will she return to him.
