If Desh Ki Beti Nandini airs contemporary political issues, it will surely become a hit – Manoj
Manoj Chandila, last seen in Zee TV’s Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, is quite happy with his role of political leader Gayatridevi Raghuvanshi’s (Sujatha Sehgal) advisor and chief trouble shooter in Sony Entertainment Television’s Desh Ki Beti Nandini.
On his character, he stated, “Abhay is an honest guy, but he also has a tinge of grey. The Raghuvanshis have been out of power for a long time and he asks them to connect to the common man in an attempt to form the government. The party had long tried to woo the established classes, but since they don’t vote we were not getting any benefits.”
Although Manoj debuted with a cameo in Santaan, he regards Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil (Balaji Telefilms) as his real launch pad. “I have done a couple of other shows as well. I regard grey and comedy roles as my forte.”
When asked about the progress of Desh Ki Beti Nandini, he said, “People are slowly but steadily connecting with our show. If the producers (Rashmi Sharma Productions) show contemporary political issues in the plot, it will surely become a hit.”
With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections coming, we asked if liquor and other wrong things will not be again used to attract common man and the actor averred, “I don’t know about it, but if you say it must be, for corruption is the biggest bane facing the nation. I just hope that the leaders listen to the people who vote for them. If this happens, nothing can stop India from becoming the number one nation in the world.”
In closing we ask him about the potential prime ministerial candidates of the two principle parties i.e. Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi and he stated, “I don’t want to comment on who is better. All I will say is that both represent the future of the nation.”
Wish you luck for your new show, Manoj!!!
