“I was lucky to get selected in the first audition itself” – Shantanu Maheshwari

The much loved actor Shantanu Maheshwari goes down the memory lane and shares his experience about first audition.

While most of our actors are popular on-screen and doing great, we thought of asking them about their first audition experience.

We got in touch with Shantanu Maheshwari who plays the character of Swayam in Channel V’s popular show Dil Dostii Dance.

Let’s see what he has shared

Talking about his first audition experience for the show Dil Dostii Dance, “I was not keen to give audition. Being a dancer I never had inclination for acting but all my friends from SSDC (Street Soul Dance Crew) group went together to give an audition. When we reached there we were allotted a room and then we thought that ki aaye hai let’s give a try. So we all tried to read lines which were given to us to memorize.”

He further says, “After reading the lines, like typical friends we were encouraging each other ki pehle tu ja and all. We all were not understanding that a person who gave the audition was in a jovial mood and laughing, meanwhile the person who yet to give the audition was thinking whether to laugh or not. So you have to be very cautious when you are acting in front of your friends for the first time. I was lucky enough that I got selected in my first audition itself. Out of all friends only Messy (Macedon Dmello) and I got selected.”

Well Shantanu we also agree that you were lucky enough to clear the most difficult process in one go.
