I took up Kaali for I intend to help women in my own limited way: Arjun Bijlani
Arjun Bijlani who plays the lead role of Dev in Star Plus’ new show Kaali-Ek Punar Avatar tells us that he has signed an exclusive contract with the makers of the show, Shankuntalam Telefilms.
However, he refuses to comment on the reasons for the same, “I don’t think the reason could be that the production house wants to make a mark with my character (Dev).”
He plays a unique character, a typical Delhi boy who is very brash in his ways but can’t stand injustice. He helps Vani’s family to get justice.”
Since you can’t work elsewhere, till the show runs, so it would mean that he is making more money? “It is not always about the moolah. The reason why I signed this show was that I wanted to help women in my own limited way. Else I could have easily done one more romantic show.”
Remind him that that the ratings of Kaali-Ek Punar Avatar have not really touched sky high and he quips, “We are just actors and there are several other things which make or break a show i.e. slotting, promotions and promos and most importantly people’s reactions. Here I am lucky that my character is getting appreciation as someone who is helping the family get justice.”
He also has no idea about the buzz that the channel may yank off the show next month, if TRPs don’t go up. “I have no clue about the same. Having said that the series by nature itself is limited hence it will not run for more than six to eight months. The story will naturally wrap up once justice is delivered.”
Furthermore, Arjun who is awaiting the release of his Punjabi film Full Fukre says that, “for the moment he is only busy with Kaali given the contract.”
“But once the above laugh riot which also stars Mohammad Nazim and Rampal Yadav etc is out in the middle the year (2013), I will start looking for other film opportunities,” he ends.
Have a great career ahead, Arjun!!!
