I quit Gustakh Dil as I was not comfortable working with the production house – Payal Rajput
Like all aspirants who desperately want to make a mark in the entertainment industry, Payal Rajput, a bubbly girl from Delhi found herself posing in front of the mirror and mimicking her favourite actors from the television and Bollywood industry.
Having acted in shows like Sapnon Se Bhare Naina and Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai the actor recalls some pleasant memories in the process of becoming an actor.
She says, “From the time I was in my 9th grade in school, I used to watch Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and dream of how I will become a famous actor someday. When I transformed into a mature adult, my parents supported my dream. I anchored local events for almost 6 to 7 months and accumulated Rs. 1 lakh in my account before leaving for Mumbai. I was lucky to get work in the first 20 days of my stay here.”
Recalling an embarrassing moment in an audition, Payal exclaims, “Well, I had gone for my first audition and in an attempt to look good, I applied a lot of make-up. When the casting director saw me he asked me to wash my face and it was very embarrassing. Today, I can become a make-up artist!”
Every aspirant faces these highs and lows…
Payal also narrated how she started shooting for Life OK’s Gustakh Dil, but called it quits midway due to the character shaping up on a negative side.
“I am a positive person and would love to essay a character which is out of the box and positive. The case with Gustakh Dil was not only about playing negative. I cannot work in a place where I am not very comfortable. There were some issues with the production house (Ravi Ojha Productions) and I thought it was best to step out. However, shooting with the cast of Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai seemed like I found family.”
Talking about the roles she wants to essay in future, the pretty lady is of the opinion that she wants to essay something which has never been seen on television, and obviously in a lead role. While she finds the television soaps today boring and monotonous, she also highlights how there is immense need for some change.
“Television serials are limited to daily soaps and romantic drama. I want to do something which is extremely different where the audience can go gaga on the concept. I want to essay productive, performance oriented roles.”
Talking about her friends who have supported her during her highs and lows in the industry, Payal mentions Karan Sharma and Arhaan Behl to be her closest pals in the industry. “Karan and Arhaan are someone whom I can consult before taking up a project. They can guide me as to what will improve my career graph as an actor.”
Payal who is not shooting at the moment informs us of how she has put on weight due to her addiction to chocolates.
“Trust me I drool over them. I have put on some weight; so I make sure that I gym regularly. Also, there is something about Poha. People call me a Poha girl!”
Way to go Payal!
