‘I now know what it’s like when your kajal smudges’- Karan Tacker
Karan Tacker talks of his experience of playing Lord Krishna in Star Diwali
Karan Tacker played Lord Krishna at the Diwali – Har Chehre Par Muskaan of Star Parivar. Diwali commemorates the return of Lord Rama, along with Sita and Lakshmana to Ayodha, after defeating the demon-king Ravana. So why was Lord Krishna included in this? Karan explains, “Though this is a Diwali special we wanted to tell our viewers that this festival is related to more than one God. Lord Rama had prayed to Durga mata for victory. Diwali is all about the victory of good over evil.”
Karan performed on two songs in this Diwali special. His co-star Krystle Dsouza in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain played Radha.
Is Karan a devotee of Lord Krishna? He candidly replies, “No I am not but I am quite awed by the fact that he had so many gopis.” Krishna in this Diwali special show wore a dhoti and varied jewellery. In fact the talented actor confessed, “I now know why women take so much of time to dress up. Generally if Jeevika would get five minutes late I would pull her leg but now I will for sure stop. I used most of the cosmetics for the first time and trust me I didn’t even know what most of them were used for. I was careful and didn’t do things that would smudge my kajal. I now know what it’s like when your kajal smudges.”
How was it to meet the other actors of Star Parivar? He replied, “It was good fun as there was so much of warmth.” The Diwali special will be telecast on Star Plus soon.
