“I have a very supportive and helpful team”
says Rahul Sharma the male lead Aakash in Ek Ghar Banaunga…
We got in touch with the talented actor Rahul Sharma who is seen playing the role of Aakash in producer Rakesh Paswan’s new daily soap Ek ghar Banaunga on Star Plus, about his journey and on how he bagged this role…
Lets have a look on what he said…
Tell us something about your role in Ek Ghar Banaunga?
Aakash in Ek Ghar Banaunga is shown as a very sensible and hardworking boy, who handles his father’s business from the age of 16 years and knows his responsibilities very well. He is always ready to help people and cannot tolerate anything wrong happening in his surroundings. He is not dependent on anybody for anything. The only problem that he faces difficulty is when the talks are happening about Love. He is totally a desi boy but has his own style (smiles).
Are you the same in the real life?
Well not really but yes I would say that I am nearly 50% similar to Aakash in real life. I am sensible and do understand my responsibilities well in my real life too. Also just like my character Aakash I cannot tolerate anything wrong happening around. I believe in taking a stand for the wrong happenings in my surroundings.
What have you to say about the concept of your show?
The concept of my show is very nice. Rakesh Paswan has penned down the story very well which shows the orthodox traditions and culture still followed in many parts of our country. The sacrifice of a girl when she gets married is shown in the show. It is a very interesting show and I am lucky enough to be a part of this show.
How is it working with the production house and your co-stars?
It is a very nice feeling when you have really helpful and supportive cast with a superb production house. All the co-actors are very good to work with, so I have bonded with all of them very well so I find no difficulty in shooting too, since if you have a friendly environment then things happen smoothly.
What was your reaction, when you got this show?
I was very happy as had I waited for long… almost 1 and a half year to get this lead role. I kept giving auditions and luckily I bagged this show. Getting this show was not easy either as I had to do 15 mock shoots and nearly 10 to 15 look tests. But apart from whatever I had gone through I am very happy being a part of this show.
How did acting happen to you?
I basically belong to Rajasthan. I used to stay in the district of Dausa and after a few years after college I planned to do my MBA from Jaipur. So during the summer vacation out there few of my friends suggested me to do a theatre workshop which was for 45 days. I planned to take up the workshop as it was vacation time. That is how my love for acting started. I got to do many theatre shows after that workshop. Than after doing nearly 7 theatre shows in Rajasthan, I planned to come to Mumbai.
Further he said, “Its been 3 years in Mumbai now, but my journey was not easy in Mumbai too. I have been through a lot of struggle but I find that struggle only makes you reach greater heights. I did many commercials and also two shows on Indian television namely Kahani Chandrakanta Ki and Tere Meri Love Story. But I was eagerly waiting for a lead role to come in. So when I got this show Ek Ghar Banaunga, I was on top of the world.”
If you wouldn’t have has been an actor, what would you be?
I would have surely joined my father’s business. I was very much interested in helping my father in his business. But well, later it all changed and acting became my love and now my profession.
The roles you wish to play in future?
I would love to play a role similar to Godfather from the Hollywood movie… something that is very challenging and difficult.
