I feel lucky to be paired opposite such a gorgeous woman like Sangeeta (Ghosh): Ruslaan Mumtaz
When you look at this good looking actor, you can feel the kind of greed he has for good work coming his way. Yes, we are talking about Bollywood actor Ruslaan Mumtaz who is making television debut with Sony Entertainment Television’s new show… Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara (Rose Audio Visuals Pvt Ltd).
When we caught up with this actor at the launch of the project, he was a bundle of excitement.
“It is a great feeling and I am both super excited as well as nervous. Personally I feel that this is my dream debut on the small screen. With such an amazing production house and star cast , plus such a popular channel, I do not think I could have asked for more,” avers the excited actor.
Talking about his character, Ruslaan adds, “I am playing Dhruv a 27-year old lawyer. Possessing no qualities of a lawyer, he is a very chilled out person who believes in enjoying his life. He meets Saachi (Sangeeta Ghosh) and then how this two very different individuals start a relationship will be for the viewers to see.”
So how much do you relate to this character, we asked the handsome actor? “Some time or the other every individual does feel the need to just relax and chill. Dhruv always has this kind of attitude but Ruslaan gets serious when it comes to work.”
Sangeeta, who is a big name on TV, is also making a comeback with this show. Wasn’t he apprehensive that the entire focus would be on her? “No, not at all. I actually feel lucky to be paired with such a gorgeous woman. Every time I look at her, I come across as a star struck guy. So I guess she’ll make my job easier of looking as the guy infatuated by her,” he observes.
Ruslaan also adds that everyone who has seen the promos are talking about how good the two (Ruslaan and Sangeeta) look on screen. “Sangeeta is one TV actor who I was a fan of. So you can imagine how excited I am for this show,” the actor smilingly adds.
When TV actors harbor dreams of being on the big screen, what made him tread the other way? “There is nothing like that. I just want to do good work and don’t mind on which medium. See it’s not that I have left films. I am doing TV, will get back to films, do ads, anchor shows; there is so much to do. I just want to learn more and more and TV is the best medium for it. I do not know on what I will lay my hands on next, but definitely it will always grow better,” he further goes on to say.
So does he feel that TV, today, has become a medium which reaches the masses much easily? “Yes, you won’t believe, when the day the promos were aired, I got calls and messages from people around the world. Earlier, I actually had to send them the links, but with TV around, it gets spread automatically and at a superfast speed.”
And is he ready to give in so much time as demanded by TV shows? “Absolutely, I am someone who will give his 200 per cent in every work I take up. With films I know after 80 days or so I am free, but with TV serials it will be an everyday thing and I am all geared for that,” Ruslaan maintains.
Would he want to give any message to his fans? “I would like my fans to shower their love and good wishes to me as they have always done. This time I need much more of their support. So please watch my show and give me your honest feedbacks; I will be looking forward to your suggestions to improve my work.”
With this we wishes Ruslaan a hearty welcome to the TV industry and hope he achieves great success. Amen!!!
The show went air yesterday at the 9.30pm slot.
