I am not ready to essay gay characters as I think homosexuality is weird – Dheeraj Miglani

Dheeraj Miglani who plays the happy-go-lucky Himanshu, the best friend of the protagonist Manav (Farhan Khan) in Sony TV’s Chhanchhan (Optymystix Entertainment) is also a cheerful guy in real life. This is the reason why he has been able to step into the role with ease, without any preparation whatsoever.

Talking about it, the actor told us, “I am jolly, frank, cool and fall in love easily like Himanshu. The only difference is that I am not innocent like him.”

Regarding Himanshu’s love-interest Simple (Charu Asopa) in the show he said, “Simple as her name suggests is a very simple girl. Himanshu and Simple hit it off when they liked each other initially, and gradually fell in love. This is in contrary to the love story of Chhanchhan (Sanaya Irani) and Manav. They started off by hating each another and are now starting to like each other. They are yet to realise that they are falling in love though.”

When asked about the role that is closest to his heart, Dheeraj stated, “All five fingers in your hand are important. You can’t choose just one. All my characters have had different shades and I am close to all of them. Playing Naradji in my mythological shows was great fun though as he is a very knowledgeable, cheerful and a sweet character. He can travel to any place he feels like- be it heaven, hell or earth. People love him.”

When asked about his dream role, he replied, “It is Aamir Khan’s role in the film Dil Chahta Hai. I would love to do that role as it has all shades in it.”

Regarding one role he would never do, he remarked, “I am often asked to play gay characters which I am not ready to play. I think homosexuality is weird. I am natural, and I don’t want to play a character that is into something unnatural. I don’t hate people for indulging in homosexuality, but it is just that I don’t like such behaviour.”

We then probed into the actor’s personal life. Dheeraj is currently single. In future he would like to have a girlfriend who is sensible, sweet natured, cute looking, understanding and caring.

We wish the actor all the best in both his professional and personal life.

Dude you are being weird by thinking homosexuality is ‘weird’ and you are ‘natural’. Homosexuality and bisexuality are as natural as heterosexuality- it’s just that homosexuals are a minority and most of them are not comfortable revealing their orientation due to the weird perceptions of weirdos like you. You may not be comfortable playing a character, but that does not mean it’s ‘unnatural’. Are the gays and the lesbians judging you because you are a heterosexual? I don’t understand how people in our society still get away with such remarks in the media. NOT COOL!
