“I am happy being a TV actor.”:Karan Wahi
We got in touch with the handsome actor Karan Wahi on his love for anchoring and his upcoming projects…
The talented Karan Wahi who has entertained the audience with his anchoring skills and his chemistry with Gautam Rode on Star Plus’s dance reality show Nach Baliye 5, is now seen on Nach Baliye Shriman v/s Shrimati with co-anchor Aishwariya Sakhuja. Soon we will also see him anchoring the show Indian Idol Juniors on Sony TV, with the talented and gorgeous Mandira Bedi. His anchoring skills are as much appreciated as his acting skills on television.
On the same we got in touch with him and he said, “I have done acting, comedy and dancing… the only thing remaining was anchoring. I was trying for anchoring for the past 2 to 3 years, after I did Jhalak Dikhla Jaa : Dancing with the superstars on Colors. I was getting a lot of offers for anchoring and in the meantime I also hosted a lot of red carpet events.”
Talking about other anchors he is close to Karan says, “People were used to seeing Ayushmann Khurrana and Manish Paul as anchors, but since they were both doing films the space for anchoring was empty and I fitted into it at the right time. That doesn’t mean they won’t be seen anchoring any more, they surely will, but when the space was empty, I got the opportunity to fullfil my wish. Manish Paul who is my good friend, has guided me which has been a great help for me throughout. Also when needed help during Nach Baliye 5, I used to take tips from Jay Bhanushali who was much appreciated as an anchor on Dance India Dance.”
On his upcoming projects he said, “I am also in talks for films since the past 1 and half years but I do not want to do a movie only for the sake of doing it. For now, I am very happy being a television actor. I believe that I would rather be known as an popular television face than an unsuccessful movie face. That doesn’t mean I will not do movies, maybe the viewers might see me in movies by this year end, if things work out well. It’s just a conscious decision of not staying away from television.”
“If I am offered a good show on television than I will happily do it, but there is nothing as of now that I have been offered, since everyone knows that I am busy shooting. I was offered two shows recently out of which one was really good with a crisp story line but I couldn’t do it as I was traveling and they wanted to start the shooting immediately. Besides this no one has called me, people are assuming that I am being offered shows and I am rejecting them, which is absolutely false. It is nothing as such, it is just that I don’t want to do a show which is already on air, for now” he concluded.
