We got in a chat with the youth-icon of our industry a.k.a Karan Singh Grover to speak about the forthcoming massive twist in Zee TV’s Qubool Hai ‘Gudiya Factory Ki Saazish’. Let’s have a look at what he said…
Do you think that the twist ‘Gudiya Factory Ki Saazish’, will take the show on the next level?
Yes, it is definitely going to be on a bigger and a larger scale. Since the channel is taking extra efforts and holding a mid-show press conference just to promote a twist in the show speaks volumes in itself. This has never actually happened before and it is obviously going to be something that will take the show to the next level.
According to you is this the biggest twist so far?
Yes, this is one of the biggest shows as well as the biggest twists so far as much as I can recollect.
Tell us about the ‘Gudiya Factory Ki Saazish’ twist in the show.
You will come to know only once it will be aired on the channel. But for now I can just tell you that ‘Gudiya Factory Ki Sazish’ is going to unfold the truth about why Rahid (my onscreen father) married the other woman and is staying far away from his first family. It will also be revealed as to why he was blackmailed to stay with the second family. My character will find out what has happened. To know this exciting episode don’t miss watching Qubool Hai on 18th February.
What have you to say about the rising TRP of your show?
Well, honestly I have never crossed 1.9 Trp ratings so far which I noticed during the Dil Mil Gayee days. However the first week of Qubool Hai amazed me with an amazing 3 Trp. This show is doing fantastic on the ratings with its unique story line which attracts the viewers. For the moment this twist is going to be the highest turning point of the show so far and I am definitely wishing to see the Trp ratings to go higher.
Is it difficult to adjust in a show based on a Muslim background?
No. Not really. However there are a couple of things to keep in mind as the religion is very strict. I stayed in Saudi Arabia for many years where I had many Muslim friends and so I know what their religion and culture is and hence this made my work a bit easier.
How is it working with the co-stars?
It is amazing working with the co-stars. They are very cooperative and helpful.
What kind of shows do you like watching?
I like watching comedy shows on television. I never miss Qubool Hai and another show on my list will be the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali show Saraswatichandra which has my beautiful wife Jenny as the lead. I am very conceited and self-centered person so I watch the shows only related to us (smiles).
You have done many reality shows, so are reality shows better than daily soaps?
Both have their own uniqueness. But I have learnt that one must not to do a reality show and daily show together as it is very difficult to handle the both of them together.
Who is your role model from the Bollywood industry?
I am a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan. He has inspired me since childhood and I consider him to be a role model for me in my life as well as Salman Khan.
Your shows which you are proud of?
Dil Mil Gaye and Qubool Hai are the shows I am proud of and Armaan was the character which I enjoyed playing since I was able to relate to it.
It was heard that you were approached for Nach Baliye 5 but you did not take up the show?
Yes, it is true that I was approached for Nach Baliye 5, but as you all know that I am exclusive on Zee TV and Jennifer Singh Grover is exclusive on Star Plus so there was no way we could do the show.
Something you aspire to buy?
I aspire to buy a Yacht and go sailing and do at least 1 film a year as doing a daily soap would not be possible if I go sailing.

February 16, 08:26No, i dont think ksg is conceited or self-centered. You’re just normal but you are a bit more unique than some other acgors who would claim that they dont watch their own serials or films. An actor who is not curious how his acting will come through in the films! Then he may not be that good or a consummate artiste, how would one improves onez’s skills if one dont go over one’s work or results. Actors have to be narcissistic sometimes, to become great actors
I’m glad to know ksg watches his own work, that will n i think have helped him hone his craftmanship. I hope ksg reads viewers’ comments and take note of those constructive ones to improve his actung although he is already a good one. But as the saying goes, you’re only as good as the next film or serial or episode. Ksg is great in QH but please he shouldnt rest on his laurels and from what i read abt ksg, his interviews and comments on him by others , i think he is not. That augurs well for his career n sustaining his popularity. There are many gd looking actors with 6 packs but few with the calibre to be great actors wuth presence and charisma.
If i may proffer another opinion on a more personal matter- please ksg shouldnt overdo on the body building. His physique now is just right, dont get too overly built or he may walk like salman khan in Bodyguard. Very unnatural n unless one intends to only act as The Hulk, its nit necessary. Sorry, on that opinion.
