I always wanted to do a love story: Fahad Ali
We in conversation with Fahad Ali for his upcoming show Muh Boli Shaadi on Sony TV…
The good looking actor Fahad Ali, who became very popular amongst the youth by portraying KD in Channel V’s The Buddy Project Season 2 – Now in College, is now all set to make a comeback to television with his upcoming show Muh Boli Shaadi on Sony TV (produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions).
Fahad has been roped in to play a very simple guy in the show which is going to be a love story.
We spoke to Fahad to know more about his character and much more about the show.
Tell us something about your character?
I am playing the character of Nikhil in the show. He is a sweet and simple guy who is more focused in his career and studies. It’s a Bareilly based story. He wants to become a CA. He is more focused towards his studies and wants to achieve his dreams but his father being a Pundit, wants him to follow the tradition of his family and wants Nikhil to follow his footsteps. Nikhil wants to do something else in life rather than following the tradition of his family.
In what ways you can relate yourself to the character?
He is a sweet and simple guy who is focused in his studies. I am a simple guy but my life doesn’t end in books only. I have so many other things in my life other than books as well.
What made you to opt for the show?
After doing The Buddy Project for two years, I was on a sabbatical and I went to my hometown. I wanted to do a love story on a GEC. After coming back to Mumbai, this was the first audition that I gave and then this is how it happened to me.
What was the appealing factor for you in the show?
You hardly find such shows based on love stories nowadays because mostly the shows are now focused towards family drama.
What have you been busy with after your show The Buddy Project went off-air?
I went to Dehradun. My Nani is not keeping well these days so I just wanted to spend time with her. I thought of spending time with all the elders at my home and take blessings from everyone. So, I visited all my relatives and met everyone in my hometown.
Any new hobby you acquired or anything new that you learnt during your sabbatical?
I keep learning new things. I hardly used to reads books but these days I have started reading lot of books. I also write poems in Urdu and short stories whenever I get sometime. I also love to sketch during my free time.
Doing a youth based show or a daily soap on GECs; what are you most comfortable with?
I am comfortable with everything. I have done little cameos in daily soaps in GECs. So, I didn’t find any difference. I am an actor and I have to perform wherever I get to; whether it’s a TV show, movies or a stage show.
How is your bonding with your co-stars on the sets?
They all are professionals and very nice people to work with. Zalak (Zalak Desai) has also done few shows before and Darshan Jariwala, who is playing my father in the show, is a great and a National Award winning actor. It’s a big opportunity for me to share screen space with him. We all share a great family like bonding with each other.
How has been the response so far?
Fans who got connected with me from the time of The Buddy Project are eagerly waiting for the show. They are tweeting that they are desperately waiting for the show. It took a long time but finally the show is going on-air now. The response is good so far. Let’s hope for the best.
Message for your fans?
Do watch the show on Sony TV. As an actor I wish that you all will like my work like you have always from the time of The Buddy Project. I love you all.
