Gustakh Dil 26th August 2013 Written Episode

The episode starts with Nikhil and friends driving out of the village. The villagers are on the road staring at them. Nikhil looks upset and so Kunal offers to drive, Nikhil declines saying he is fine. Nikhil stops the car randomly and all his friends convince him that he made the right decision. Nikhil still looks torn, but starts driving again.
Bua asks Dadaji if he is still upset with Nikhil and Dadaji says no. Bua explains that Nikhil was right in refusing as the marriage would have been too hard as Lajjo and Nikhil are very separate people. Dadaji says they shouldn’t talk about things that didn’t happen and Bua tries to console him saying that soon the villagers will forget about this and Lajjo will get married to a nice boy and be able to continue studying. Dadaji is still not convinced and says that this is the second time in life that he feels so defeated.
The villagers are at Lajjo’s house telling them that Nikhil has left for Delhi. The villagers are upset that the village is going to lose its respect and reputation because of this. They ask Rambachan to send Lajjo away to some far relatives and Rambachan says that they don’t have any such relatives they can send her to. Lajjo’s mother is upset and talks ill of Lajjo and how now she understands why people don’t want to have daughters. Lajjo overhears and is super sad. The widowed bua proposes marrying Lajjo to an old relative of her in-laws and that the groom is old, but will keep Lajjo happy. Lajjo overhears and is distraught. She goes to her room and has numerous flashbacks that make her cry and feel guilty!
Nikhil is driving on the road when a kid runs in front of his jeep. Nikhil gets hysterical and repeatedly says “main use bachcha nahin paaya”, even though he braked in time and the kid is fine. Nikhil is pretty shaken up and sits on the side of the road.
Lajjo’s mom tries to talk to her, but Lajjo is unresponsive. Lajjo explains that she doesn’t care about what the villagers say, but she is hurt that her parents thought she was wrong. Lajjo’s mother says that societal norms dictate everything and no one thinks of how the parents feel or want. She tells Lajjo that she has to take the decision that the villagers want with much regret. Lajjo is not pleased and says that the villagers who she tended to when they were sick and in pain, are now giving her so much pain. Lajjo’s mother begs her to agree to this marriage and to forgive her for this. Lajjo agrees and says that she has done everything till now for her parents and will do this for them too. Before walking away, Lajjo asks her mom whether she will forget her after the marriage.
Nikhil is still sitting at the side of the road. He has a flashback to his older brother Ankur climbing a huge ladder to get on top of a roof (or so it looks) to get a flower. Little Nikhil tries to stop him, but Ankur does not listen and asks him to come up as well. Little Nikhil reluctantly climbs up the ladder too. Ankur is having a hard time getting to the flower and his foot slips and he falls. Little Nikhil tries to prevent him from falling, but he cannot haul his larger brother up the roof and his hand slips. Ankur falls and we see a grotesque aerial shot of his dead body (with blood spilling from the skull). Flashback ends and Nikhil is thinking of Dadaji’s words about ‘thamo Lajjo’s haath’.
On the other hand, Lajjo is getting ready once again and her sisters and friend is getting her ready. Lajjo just sits dispassionately. Bua comes and coos over Lajjo’s beauty. Lajjo’s mom looks on upset and leaves without saying anything. She asks Bua whether they are doing the right thing and whether Lajjo will be happy? Bua placates her.

Precap: Nikhil is sitting on the mandap with Lajjo with friends and family around them. Afterward, everyone is sitting in Lajjo’s house and Ishana calls. Nikhil looks distraught.
