Gulfam Khan claims she bought the first iPhone 5 in India even before Salman Khan

Actress cum writer Gulfam Khan is a typical gizmo freak and guess what? She claims that she bought the first iPhone 5 in India even ahead of Bollywood star Salman Khan. “My London based fiancée had placed a pre-release order for the latest variant of iPhone and got its delivery on the very day this latest Apple product hit the international market.” Wow, that’s nice!

She goes on, “He had delayed his trip to Mumbai so that I could get my phone as soon as possible. So I had my phone the very next day.”

So how do people react when they see you with this prized possession? “Most of them are amazed as hardly few people have iPhone 5 here. It is quite expensive to buy it off the grey market. Also not everybody can afford to get a cell phone shipped from abroad.”

Gulfam is fine with spending a bit extra money to buy what she likes.“Let’s face it… our industry is bitten by the consumer culture. I really love the iPhone, thanks to its larger screen. I don’t need to tug a laptop for my writing. It is also much lighter and thinner than the 4s and last but not the least the operating system OS6 is amazing.”

Are you not afraid of losing such an expensive electronic item? “Don’t remind me of losing, in June somebody stole my iPhone4S from R K Laxman Ki Duniya make-up room. It was a big blow, but I went ahead and got myself one more as I cannot work without my iPhone.”

Gulfam immediately adds, “My latest baby though has a special application called find my phone which will help the authorities locate the device if it unfortunately gets stolen again.”

In closing Gulfam adds that, “Although she loves gadgets, she just does not indulge in buying anything from the shelf e.g. though the Kindle 3 is out, I am happy with my older version of this e-book reader. Why should I just dish out 15-20 K extra just for the heck of it?”
