Geeta Kapur’s Govinda dream comes true on Zee TV’s DID Super Moms
Master Geeta, has been an inspiration and a guiding force for countless dancers who look up to her, be it contestants on the show who have the privilege of training under her or dance enthusiasts who watch her on television. The versatile dancer recently revealed who she looks up to as her idol when it comes to dance and its none other than her co-judge on Zee TV’s DID SuperMoms – superstar Govinda!
Geeta Maa revealed that she has been an ardent fan of Govinda and it was her long cherished dream to share stage with him. And as luck would have it, she got an opportunity to dance behind him at one of the awards shows as a background dancer. But destiny had bigger plans in store for her … and her dream of sharing the stage with her idol has only got bigger with none other than Govinda joining her on the judge’s panel on season 2 of DID Super Moms. The choreographer who grew up watching Govinda’s movies and followed his dance style is thrilled to bits with this development!
Geeta Kapur says, “I’ve been a die-hard Govinda fan, have grown up watching his films… some of them more than 50 times! I have seen all his songs and have practised all his moves till I got them right but no one can shake it like Govinda himself. When I was a kid, my mother used to get her work done on the basis of just one name- Govinda.”
Feeling nostalgic, she adds, “I used to tell my mother that I want to dance with him, just once in my whole life. When I was 16 years old, he was performing at an awards show and I requested the choreographer to give me a chance to dance with Govinda. Performed with him, back then, as a background dancer. But now since he is also a part of DID, I am hoping I will get numerous chances to shake a leg with him. I am blessed to be associated with Dance India Dance and a big thank you to Zee TV for yet another wish fulfillment.”
From dancing on stage for 10 seconds with her idol to being on the judge’s panel with him, the affable Geeta Maa has sure come a long way…
