Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 3rd March 2020 Written Episode
Epi begins with Bheema asking Ambedkar ji how one can attain a balance in relations. Jija ji thinks Didi does not care about him but it isn’t the case. Why cannot Didi explain things to him? Who is stopping him form understanding? All this is troubling me. Guru ji explains to him that he is too young to understand the relation between a wife and husband. It is like a weighing scale where one has to either rise or lie low for the other one. You have to sometimes lose something or gain something the other times. Bheema asks him if this is the answer to all his questions. Ambedkar ji denies. He shares the example of Mahatma Buddha. He too had many questions like you. Bheema asks him how he found his answers. Ambedkar ji says he contemplated over them. He roamed around for no reason, with no motive. You will have to do the same. You will find all answers on your own. Bheema walks away without a word. Guru ji says where will he go. Where will he find his answers? Ambedkar ji says he isn’t an ordinary kid. he will become a very big man one day and for that, he must contemplate on his own.
Ganga gives food to her husband. He is unable to sit. He tells her he isn’t hungry. She helps him sit and feeds him with her own hands. Both of them look at each other emotionally. Tears stream down their cheeks.
Bheema sits under a tree. He notices an old couple passing by. The old man has lifted his wife on his back as he walks. He cannot see whereas his wife cannot walk. Bala asks Bheema to come home. What are you doing here? Bheema says I was looking for some answers. Bala asks him if they are birds. You will find them. Aayi is angry.
Manjula tells her mother to tell Tulsa not to argue with her. She says she remembers Ganga Didi’s wedding. How will she remember it when I was very small? Meera smiles. Both of you were very young back then. Bhimbai reprimands Bheema for going without informing anyone. You will tell me before going anywhere next time. She tells Ram ji to tell Bheema. It worries me. The old couple stops outside Sakpal House. They ask for food. Bhimbai packs food for them. Ram ji gives them some money. Why are you both roaming outside in this condition? You should rest at home. Don’t you have kids to take care of you? The old man says we have kids but they aren’t good enough to help us spend our life happily. I have married her (his wife). God made me blind and she cannot walk but life does not stop because of this. Bheema says it must be difficult though. The old man says relations become easy when one lives it with honesty. She became my eyes and I became her feet! Bheema asks him if they get enough food in a day to live by. The old man says we only seek love. We eat to survive. We share whatever we get. We face all difficulties together. Ganga and her husband look on from the window. The old man says this is the true meaning of a husband and wife’s relation. Everyone else is a stranger! They leave.
Ganga’s husband starts crying. Everyone runs inside in concern. Ganga’s husband apologizes to Ganga. I couldn’t be a good husband. I gave up in front of difficult situations. I dint think I should fight with the situation with you and change things for good. We will fight but we will also find a way to live life together. Our kids are waiting for us at home. Let’s go. Bhimbai asks him how he will go in this condition. He tells her that pain is also good sometimes. I wouldn’t have realised it if I wasn’t here. this pain does not matter when Ganga is with me. Please allow us to go. Bheema says we will celebrate your departure. It won’t be that simple. Everyone smiles.
Ganga says I couldn’t make besan laddoos for my brothers this time. I will make it next time. Bhimbai says I will make it for them. They wont be like the ones you make but they will still eat it. Bheema, Anand, Bala, Tulsa and Manjula bring instruments and flowers there. We will dance in the front and Didi and Jija ji will follow us slowly. Bhimbai says they have set the mood. Sakpal family bids adieu to Ganga and her husband happily with music and dance. Villagers seethe seeing them happy and think Sakpal family would be doing this intentionally to rub salt to their wounds. Paresh tells them they are just bidding adieu to their sister and her husband happily. They threaten to oust him from their community once Dhansukhlal returns. Go to them if you are so happy seeing them happy. They should be beaten. Paresh tells them to go ahead. 2 people hit them and they are in jail now. You will meet the same fate. They fume. You will go to hell! Bheema tells his Jija ji to write them a letter once they reach. He tells Ganga to come over whenever she feels like. This is your house only. She kisses him on his forehead. Paresh is certain Bheema is special. The glow on his face hints at a very big change that will happen in future. He will free this society from all these differences. Sakpal family smiles seeing Ganga leave with her husband.
At night, Bhimbai says it is good Ganga’s husband understood everything. We just want them to be happy. Meera calls out to Manjula for some house chore. Ram ji asks Bheema to sit. Bhimbai asks him how he thinks of such big ideas. He gives credit to Ram ji. They cutely tease each other. Bala says Aayi Baba love Bheema so much. No one is even
asking them. Anand reasons that Bheema is younger and smarter than them. He deserves it.
Bheema tells his parents to include Anand Bhaiya and Bala Bhaiya as well. They must be thinking you only love me.
Bhimbai folds her hands in front of him. She calls out to both of them. They come running to their parents and hug them tight. Bhimbai asks for Tulsa and Manjula as well but they say there is no space. Everyone smiles. Bhimbai says we have enough space. Bala says let us call Meera Bua also then. Everyone smiles.
Precap: Villagers taunt Ram ji when he is going somewhere with Manjula and Tulsa. They are furious to hear that Ram ji is taking the girl to enrol them for exams. Bhimbai stops Bheema from reacting but he does not relent. He tells the villagers that he has realised it today that the girls living in their own house also hold no respect in their eye. I would encourage every girl to study and grow in life.
