Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 3rd December 2020 Written Episode
Villagers question Bala on his actions and share that Ram ji just got falsely accused because of a girl. Bhimbai stops him from going after the widow. Bala is curious to know what happened with Ram ji. Bhima goes after the girl. Villagers leave from there. Bhimbai refuses to let Bala go after the girl. Don’t try to become Bhima now.
Bhima stops the girl. It is about your protection yet you care about caste differences. She nods. I can die but I cannot compromise with my caste and dharma. She walks away. Bhima recalls his convo with Ambedkar ji on how people refuse to accept wrong as wrong. Guru ji has explained that they will walk on every path from which their phoney beliefs wont be affected. Bhima asks the girl in which community was her marriage fixed. She calls him crazy for asking that. My family will fix my relation with someone from my community only! Bhima asks her if people from her community came forward to help her when she became a widow. Bala Bhaiya was telling us that you were waiting for someone at the station the entire night. He dint turn up. Which caste is he from? She says mine. He asks her about the people who she is afraid of and because of whom was thinking of committing suicide. She says they are from my community only. Why do you ask? Bhima reasons that she is supporting people from her community even when they are trying to kill her but she is against them just because we are from lower community. My friend Dhruv is from an upper community. His hut is right in front of our house. You can stay there. Bala Bhaiya and I mean nothing to you but we wont like it if you will roam around for no reason. Baba says that pain does not stay forever. It can be taken care of. One should not look away when they see someone in pain. This is why we are requesting you to take shelter there.
Bala argues with his mother that Bhima is right when he does things like that yet he cannot do it. She tells him to stop comparing himself but he insists that his point is valid. You discriminate between us. Why don’t you say that we should take permission from Bhima before doing anything? Bhimbai slaps him. Don’t you dare taunt your mother! Stay quiet. Meera notices Bhima coming there with the widow. Bhimbai says I will leave this house if she will stay here. Meera and the kids tell her not to say so. Bhimbai is hyper but Ram ji points out that Bhima isn’t bringing her here.
Bhima tells the girl to stay in Dhruv’s hut. None of us will come here. Baba wont have enough money to buy things for you but we will make some arrangements somehow. We will make sure your dharma isn’t affected. Stay here till the time you don’t find some other place to stay. He goes home. Sakpal family watches the widow sprinkle Gangajal on herself and around her.
Bhima tells his mother to understand that this was the right thing to do. We cannot be afraid after what happened with Baba. Bala Bhaiya has done a good thing. It shouldn’t be compared with anything, not even with what happened today with Baba!
The widow girl goes inside.
Bhima hugs Bala. I am proud to be your brother. You did the right thing by giving shelter to that girl. Ram ji seconds him. Think with a cool mind. You will understand that a girl should not be left outside on her own at this hour.
The girl wonders where he (her lover) might be. I waited an entire night for you. Why dint you come? I left home for you but I am stuck with people from the lower community today! I used to take bath even when the shadow of such people used to fall on me. She empties the pot of water on herself.
Next morning, Mahesh and Dhansukhlal tell Maharaj that Bala eloped with a girl last night. Maharaj says such people don’t follow rituals. He must have married her stealthily. Dhansukhlal says she is staying in Dhruv’s hut. Maharaj tells them to find out everything about her. They nod and leave. Maharaj thinks Ram ji escaped from his trap but now I will trap everyone because of that girl. Bhima thinks that he is very smart. He will be left with nothing this time! He recalls the past times when Bhima had challenged him. I haven’t met a stubborn boy like him before! No one has asked me so many questions. One must be cautious of those who ask questions. Questions can make people change their beliefs. Bhima might bring changes in our traditions if he isn’t stopped. It isn’t right and I wont let it happen!
Bala goes to give tea to the widow girl. He calls out to her to wake her up. Bhima told me what you told him last night. I know you wont accept it in our utensil but I should still offer it to you as per my dharma. She speaks rudely to him. Bhima requests his brother not to argue with her. Her beliefs must have been formed over years. Leave it outside. It is her choice now. Dhansukhlal asks Bala about the girl. She looks at them. Mangesh calls out to Ram ji. All members of Sakpal family come outside. Mangesh demands to know everything about the girl. Bala tries to dismiss it but Dhansukhlal insists that they should know. Bhima tells everyone to wait for some time. you will get to know everything. He runs to his home. Dhansukhlal asks the girl who she is. Did Bala bring you here by force? She is worried that they might throw her outside if she tells them the truth. Mangesh asks the girl to answer. Are you mute? Bala lies to them.
Bhima makes a name plate for Dhruv’s hut. My friend used to stay here. I thought to turn this into a B&B so as to earn some money. You can let us know if you want to stay here too. Bala follows with his plan. Mangesh says it wont mean that we wont even question you when a girl will come to stay here. Bhima says you don’t really ask questions. You put your bad opinions in words and shoot such arrows at us. You try to mess with us for no reason just because you are from an upper caste. Bala says she is mute. We don’t know anything about her. we will tell you when we will find out anything. Anand calls Mangesh Kaka. Don’t you have to open the shop? Mangesh warns him not to call him Kaka again. I am not afraid of that fact that your father was a Subedar! He goes to open his shop.
