Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 20th January 2020 Written Episode
Ram ji tells Bhimbai he has failed. Most of the people of our community play instruments. I don’t want my son to do the same. These people drink and create ruckus. Will our Bala do the same? I always wanted to be a good father. I wanted people to take inspiration seeing my kids becoming successful. I wanted them to say that I might not have done much in life but I did enough for my kids but Bala chose instruments over books today! He recalls today’s incident. I don’t understand why Bala did that. Maybe we dint raise him well. Bhimbai tells him not to think like that. Please look at me. Everything will be fine. Bala is very young. Ram ji says has he started thinking we don’t care enough about him. Has he misunderstood that we only focus on Bheema? Bhimbai denies. We have treated all our kids equally. Bheema is young so we take extra care of him. We used to do the same for Bala when he was young. Ram ji asks her how he should explain this to Bala. She tells him not to think so much. Everything will be fine. Bala will also understand it when he will think with a cool mind. She turns her face away and cries.
The music troupe is completely drunk. Their leader asks Bala why he dint drink with them. It causes no harm. Bala tries to walk past his house hurriedly but the troupe members stop their intentionally. Let us show your Baba how happy life we live. They start playing instruments. Ram ji wakes up due to the noise. The troupe starts fighting. Ram ji and Bhimbai step out to see what’s happening and notice Bala. He lowers his face. Bheema also peeks outside. Troupe members salute Ram ji sarcastically. We earned good money today. Don’t worry we are fine. Bala takes them with him. Ram ji and Bhimbai go back inside. Bheema is in tears. Bhimbai takes him in too.
Anand and Bheema reach school. Few kids taunt about Bala. Anand tells Bheema he is ashamed because of his brother now. We already get insulted and Bhaiya just added to it. He tries to retort but Bheema holds him back. We must not pay heed to their words. Anand insists upon teaching them a lesson but Bheema reasons that their parents are already upset over Bala Bhaiya leaving house. This will hurt them more. Anand agrees.
Principal asks about Bala. Anand and Bheema share that he wont come to school now. Guru ji is also there. Principal taunts them that they will also leave school one by one. I knew if from day one that people like you don’t change. The process has already begun. We wont have to wait for too long! He goes. Bheema tells Guru ji Principal Sir shouldn’t have said that. Guru ji nods. You too should have answer to that. Bheema gets thinking.
Bheema enters in Principal’s room with his permission. He writes a note for him. Principal looks on curiously. Guru ji walks in as Bheema hands the note to the Principal. Everyone else may run away but Bheema Rao will never run away. I will study so much that one day you will be proud of me. This school will also be proud of me. Baba says that people trust you more if you give something in writing. Trust me. I will pass from your school and make you and this school proud! He excuses himself. Guru ji tells Principal to accept it that Bheema is special. So many kids have cooked up excuses to take leave since all these years. Has any kid given you any such note? It does not matter from which diya light comes. What matters is that it spreads light! We are responsible to keep this kind of light alive.
Principal walks out of his room angrily and confronts Bheema. Everyone looks at them. Bheema stands up. Principal says I will remember this. I promise you in front of all these kids that I will etch your name on the main gate of the school the day you will actually make your words come true! This place and school will always remember you then. The day you give up, do come to meet me! Don’t forget to take your note from me. I will keep it safely. He walks out in a huff. Guru ji looks at Bheema.
Bala meets Narayan who gives him sweet. Have you eaten something like this before? Bala nods. Baba used to bring amazing sweets back in Mhow. We have eaten such delicacies which even you wouldn’t have eaten till date. Narayan asks him why he is leaving his father then. Bala says he wants me to study whereas I want to play instruments and earn money. I want to help him financially. Narayan tells him to also engage Anand with him. This will lighten his burden. Bala gets thinking. Narayan tells him to bring Anand with him next time. He gives another piece of sweet to him before leaving. Narayan thinks I will target Anand and then Bheema.
Ram ji tells Puranjan about Bala. I am his father. How can I see him taking the wrong path? How to get him back home? Bhimbai says I am worried that you may be right. Is Bala thinking we actually don’t love him enough? Puranjan suggests them to speak to Bala nicely. Ram ji says I did try to make him understand but in vain. He keeps repeating the same thing. Many people in our community do this work but one can only grow in life after studying. How to tell him this? Meera says no other parent explains things to their kids the way Bhaiya explain to his kids. I wonder why he is taking all this otherwise. We have no option but to explain things to him.
Anand and Bheema sit down to eat lunch when Bheema recalls that this is Bala’s favourite dish. Bheema refuses to eat. Anand asks him if he is leaving it for Bala’s sake when he doesn’t care. Bheema walks till the main gate while Anand continues eating. Bheema recalls last night’s incident.
Guru ji asks Bheema where he is lost. Bheema shares that Bala has left them to play instruments. Guru ji says it means he doesn’t agree with your point of view. Convince him if you think you are right. Everyone has to convince people in life. Bheema asks him how it is possible. Guru ji says you must think of a way. You must present points in your favour. Most of the people fail but those who try really hard succeed.
Precap: Bala reaches home but Ram ji says Bala will come back only if he will stop playing instruments. Bala says I cannot do that. He leaves. Bheema follows Bala and requests him to come home but he walks away. Narayan was passing by in a bullock cart and tells Bheema that Bala will never come home now. I will separate him from you. Bheema challenges him that he will take his brother home with him.
