The episode begins with Jijabai questioning Janardan for eating an apple covered in dirt. Janardan told that the situation there compelled him and others, even an upper caste member to eat that apple. Meera asked Jijabai to understand that Janardan came here to talk about his problem. Janardan blamed his illiteracy being the reason for his disrespect today. Bhim Rao and his family were educated, they have learnt to defend themselves. Janardan refused to go to work tomorrow. Bhim Rao said that they would talk in the morning. Janardan agreed but fainted. Ramji told that he was over drunk, he sept. They both took Janardan home.
Bhim Rao asked Ramji to leave, he will come after covering Janardan with a quilt. Bhim Rao recalled what Janardan said. Rama came to him, told that it hurts when ever their caste members are called being the lowest category. Bhim Rao agreed, he assured that a day would come when his people will rose to equal status.
Next morning, Hitesh called Janardan down. Janardan went down. Hitesh asked him to get ready, they were to leave for work. Rama crossing by told that Janardan will not go. Hitesh corrected her, said that they were not like Bhim Rao and Ramji to do what she says. Rama corrected him, said that Janardan decided not to go himself. Janardan refused, said that Rama was lying. Arti said that Rama might be playing a mind game on him, to convince him to do what she pleases. Bhim Rao said that Rama must have made a mistake, they had no issue with anyone working. Bhim Rao took Rama inside. Arti asked them to be prepared, she will go with them. Arti went upstairs.
Shoba was wishing Deepak his birthday. She assured that she would celebrate his birthday. Arti was excited to know that it was Deepak’s birthday, she wished him. Deepak refused to have a celebration. He wanted to study and celebrate it like Bhim Rao for whom people from Sitara came. Deepak fantasized that celebration. Arti refused to do it like Bhim Rao, she wanted to celebrate his birthday. Deepak refused. Shoba asked Arti to let go; Deepak was highly influenced by Bhim Rao. Arti didn’t care.
Jijabai taunted everyone for favoring Janardan who humiliated Bhim Rao and others in front of chawl members. She told Bhim Rao and his words have become a joke for everyone. Janardan disagreed, said that the spoke his heart out last night but can not defy his reality. He has to live with Hitesh and Joku and needs to live according to him. He might be wrong but accepts it. Janardan left. Bhim Rao said that it was Janardan’s life, he was trapped in his own mind right now and must be left alone. Everyone agreed with Bhim Rao. Jijabai questioned everyone for always agreeing with Bhim Rao, for her his path was too dangerous for anyone to take. Rama asked Bhim Rao to leave for work, she will pack him his lunch.
Arti questioned Deepak about Bhim Rao whom he worshipped like an idol didn’t wish Deepak on his birthday. Bhim Rao was leaving for work when Arti challenged Deepak to cross paths with Bhim Rao to see if he gets wished or not. Deepak does so, Bhim Rao moves forward but Bhim Rao didn’t wish him. Arti laughed at him. Bhim Rao turned around, told that Deepak has a small memory. He asked Deepak to remember what he promised on his last birthday. He recalled that Bhim Rao promised to lend him a book on his birthday. Bhim Rao wished him birthday and gifted him a book. Deepak asked Arti to see that he won. Arti told Bhim Rao that Deepak refused to have his birthday celebrated because he fantasized Bhim Rao’s celebration. Bhim Rao asked Deepak not to say no, he must fulfil his aunt’s wish. Arti announced the celebration; she invited everyone. Jijabai taunted Deepak for being inspired by Bhim Rao and have his birthday celebrated. Shoba agreed with Deepak, that he would celebrate his birthday when he becomes successful. For now, Deepak wanted to remember that he was born today. According to Bhim Rao everyone must celebrate their birthday. Arti agreed with Bhim Rao. Hitesh praised Arti for breaking the norm because till now only Bhim Rao’s birthday has been celebrated in this chawl. Rama asked Hitesh to talk about the birthday boy rather than her husband.
