Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyaar Hum 20th June 2012 Written Update

As the episode begins, Tejal’s aunt is pacing the verandah restlessly, waiting for her niece and Vaibhavi to arrive. And when our live wire does arrive, she has in tow a skinny tortured-looking man, who she claims she brought home instead of the bag! The aunt feels embarrassed, and asks the man to leave. She asks Vaibhavi to bring some of her clothes for Tejal to wear. Tejal immediately dons a sorry face, and asks her aunt about the step-motherly treatment of giving her hand-me-downs! Her aunt sees right through her Dracula-turning-into-poor-Cinderella and tells her off . She seems very determined to get Tejal dressed up in Punjabi attire. *As much as I enjoy seeing their skirmishes, I feel sorry for Tejal. Why won’t her dad stand up against his sister while she bullies his beloved little girl? Grrr!! *

Aniket is walking down a road, and spots a man packing sandwiches, and asks him for one, and further asks if the bread is fresh . The man gets slightly irritated and replies that the bread has had a shower in the morning and is quite fresh! He hands a box of sandwiches to assist to deliver at Swabhimaan Mahila Gurudyog. Aniket’s face lights up, as he envisions a business opportunity for himself.

Aniket and the sandwich man’s dumb assistant reach the Gurudyog, and some of the ladies gawk at Aniket, as if he’s eye-candy *Well, he is!* and tease him. They ask Mansukh (the assistant) to leave, and make Aniket distribute the sandwiches. One of the older ladies seated there tells him that the others are merely joking, but Aniket takes it upon himself to serve them, and quotes his mother: If someone asks you to serve him/her, it is equivalent to being tested by and serving God . Having said that, he offers to treat them to designer sandwiches, like his Sushila bhabhi makes.
Tejal, her aunt and cousin are travelling in a rickshaw, and Tejal makes the driver sing . She tells LalitaBen that when the latter goes to seek a boy for her, she’d better make sure he can sing. She then reveals her plans of broadcasting music live: she will ride her motorbike and he will sing!

Meanwhile, at the Gurudyog, Aniket draws ketchup smileys on the sandwiches *God!! It’s 3 am and I’m feeling hungry now…and I want a sandwich like that* The ladies are impressed! They decide to entertain themselves with a few rounds of Antaakshari, and the lady in pink (the one who asked Aniket to serve them sandwiches) welcomes our chocolate boy to her team.

While they’re busy playing, the three ladies arrive and Tejal wonders what’s going on. Her aunt tells her, the ladies might be playing Antaakshari. It’s Aniket’s team’s turn to sing, and he starts singing the song ‘Maa’ from Taare Zameen Par . Tejal, her aunt and cousin are on the threshold, and are enthralled by the sound of his voice. And it’s not just them, but all the ladies inside who are mesmerized by Aniket’s soulful voice and the emotions in his music . Tejal breaks down in her aunt’s arms, and her aunt gently comforts her *For the second time, I saw genuine love in her aunt’s eyes. She loves the girl, but plays rough, so that she can whip Tejal into shape and make her tough enough to deal with her future on her own. Only mothers do that.*

LalitaBen enters the room, and finds everyone seated silently, all of them emotional. Aniket introduces himself, and tells her he’s there to sell Punjabi clothes. Just what she’d been looking for. She asks him to display his wares, which he does. The ladies admire all the pieces, and Tejal’s aunt picks one and runs after her niece. Meanwhile, Tejal and Vaibhavi (her cousin) decide to escape, so that they can have pani-puri, but the watchman stops them. Tejal bribes him with promises of a raise , and he lets the girls go.

Meanwhile, a mob gathers outside Mazumdar Mansion, seeking the blessings of Jyotishi Rani Dinosaur Wali (guess who?) *Dinosaur wali??* Shashwat and Foram try to get them in control, and are sure as hell confused who this astrologer is, that the crowds are wanting to meet. Turns out, it’s our Sushila! The twins look at her and are shocked by what they see *Well, they didn’t show Sushila’s look, but showed us enough between the scenes to let us know she’s got a thick layer of eyeliner and kohl on, and ruby-red lips.*

Precap: Tejal and Vaibhavi are enjoying pani-puri at a chaat stall. Aniket walks up to the shopkeeper and asks him if he’s got panipuri made of mineral water. The girls try to catch a glimpse of him, but fail.
