Dussera celebrations with impromptu ‘mithai’ on Mere Angne Mein sets
This Dussera, the celebrations were impromptu and full of bonhomie and cheer on the sets of Star Plus’s popular show ‘Mere Angane Mein’. The day began in its usual way as everyone went about their business, hardly having time to talk as scenes were being canned for the upcoming telecast. For the uninitiated, ‘Mere Angane Mein’ is a one-hour daily and requires over 300 hours of shooting every week!
But suddenly, around 1pm, Bengali actor Ashiesh Roy, who plays Ashok on the show, arrived on the sets laden with the choicest Bengali sweets for the entire cast and crew, and it was pandemonium all around. All the sweets were laid out on the table, and everyone was seen indulging themselves, hugging each other and wishing “Happy Dussera”. It was really a great sightseeing the huge unit bonding so freely with the cast members.
The rajbhogs were well appreciated by all. The dampner was actress Ananya Khare, who has recently sworn off sweets of all kinds. But Ashiesh Roy would have none of it, as he force fed Ananya a huge rajbhog, much to everyone’s delight. And just as promptly, everyone went back to work canning a scene where Ananya blasts the hell out of Ashiesh.
“Being a Bengali on sets is a great pleasure,” said Ashiesh. “Because I get to feed my cast and crew mithais and fish at any given opportunity!”
No wonder he is one of the most popular actors on the sets of his work. He knows his way through everyone’s stomach.
