The episode starts with Ashok looking at his empty alms bowl and continuing to recall the past incidents. He thinks when he returned home to convince his parents to let him marry Mala, his father got a mild heart attack and he couldn’t meet Mala; when he went to meet Mala, he learns that Mala left hostel saying she will never return again; he returns home disappointedly. Kamini offers him tea and brainwashes him to forget Maala as she disappeared when she was criticized which proves that she doesn’t love him and just wanted to stabilize her life, soon she will be seen with some rich man. She suggests him to marry their parent’s choice Yashoda and gives her own example, she frightens him that Suresh will die if he continues to worry about Ashok. Amma tells Ashok that they got a positive response from Yashoda’s family and warns him to forget Mala and marry Yashoda or else he will see her dead face.

Out of flashback, Ashok thinks he is Yashoda’s sinner, but not Maala’s sinner; he wants to free Yashoda from her pain by receiving alms from her and going far away from her forever. Family discusses that they can’t have food until Ashok and Yashoda have food. Yashoda calls a neighbor and requests her to offer alms to a beggar sitting outside her house. She then breaks down. Malti and Mahua try to comfort her. Suresh says let her cry as she knows that once Ashok goes, he will never return. He pours his heart out.

Neighbor lady offers food to Ashok and asks him to have it so that Yashoda also has food. Children offers food to Yashoda and asks her to have it. Krishna insists Ashok to have food. Ashok thinks if he has food, Yashoda will not give him alms. He refuses to have food and says he will not have food until Yashoda gives her alms. Yashoda refues to give him alms.

At night, Krishna recalls how Ashok earlier refused to accept him as his son and then slowly accepted it. He falls asleep on the floor. He wakes up in the morning and finds whole family sleeping and Yashoda’s food plate sill intact. He walks to Ashok and asks him to answer his question , asks if he doesn’t feel like coming in and meeting Yashoda. Nupur and Astha also walk to him and asks if he doesn’t feel like loving them and living with them. He tries to speak when his guru walks in with disciples and asks Ashok if he got alms from this house. Ashok says no. Guru asks Guptas to either give alms to Ashok and free him or else let him wander begging for 13 years.

Precap: Ashok’s guru tells Ashok that he has to wander for 13 years as per her fate. Yashoda stops Ashok and says she has been sacrificing since she married him, now she is sacrificing him.
She offers him alms.
