Diya Aur Baati Hum gets a new lease of life

Countless fans of Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum were left disappointed when news about the show going off air came out in the media. According to reports, the show was being shut because of the dipping TRPs. The off air date of the show too was out in the media and the show was supposed to air its last episode on the 15th of August.

But there is a fresh buzz in the media, that the show has got an extension of one month.

The show, which enjoyed top ratings right from its inception in 2011, has now got an extension. The show has successfully enjoyed a run of 5 years, and with this extension, the show will now run until the mid-week of September, instead of the earlier stated 15th of August.

Given the current track boosts the show’s TRPs, the show might as well stand a chance to get more such extensions. The current track is focusing on how Sandhya (Deepika Singh) has sacrificed her career and job to help Sooraj (Anas Rashid) overcome his paralysis. Sandhya is trying her level best to keep Sooraj’s sweet shop running.

We tried contacting producer Shashi Mittal but he remained unavailable for comment till the time of filing the story.
