Diya Aur Baati Hum 9th November 2012 Written Update

Sandhya gazes at the admission form, and Suraj calls Bhabo asking to give her towel, Sandhya recollects herself, and finally takes the towel to Suraj.
Sandhya calls Suraj from outside and asks him to take the towel.
Suraj takes it after peeping through the door.

Dilip’s Mom calls at Rathi house and enquires if Chavi and Suraj returned safely home.

She also informs Bhabo that it is good she had sent Chavi with imitation jewellery as these days lots of thief are on prowl to steal real gold jewellery.

Bhabo keeps the phone and seethes in anger, calls Chavi hoarsely.

Bhabo says to Chavi that when she sent Chavi with real gold jewellery, why she didn’t wear that at the wedding. She further says that it is a matter of prestige for her and this family, and Chavi let them down by wearing imitation. Now the in-laws of Chavi would think bad of them as a family.

Chavi fakes an excuse, says as Suraj was away for 3 hours, so she couldn’t wear the gold jewellery and had to wear the imitation jewellery by compulsion.

Bhabo calls Suraj and enquires whether jewellery was in his bag or not. Suraj says if Chavi didn’t wear jewellery, it should be intact in the bag itself.

Bhabo and Suraj searches in bag and the suitcases but all efforts are in vain.

Bhabo sees the empty jewellery box and her anger increases by a few notches higher. She says Chavi must have misplaced it and now blaming Suraj just to cover up her mistakes.

Chavi now says that as Suraj was away, she was searching him and left the bag at the room itself. She says that some thief might have waited for the opportunity and stolen her jewellery during that time.
Suraj is stunned and confused as well. Bhabo and others still refuse to believe Chavi and grills her harder.
Chavi says she is not lying and asks Bhabo to talk with Suraj and ask him where he was for 3 hours.

Bhabo questions Suraj, and Chavi now question Suraj as well. She says she forgot to ask the reason for his disappearance there at Ajmer but now she wants the reason.

Suraj admits he came to Pushkar.
Chaturi says he might have come here for some urgent work at his shop.

Suraj says it is not about some work at the shop, and he came for some work, and he came home.

Before Suraj could say anything further, Mohit sees the filled up admission form, comes up and mocks Suraj as much as he could.
He says Suraj was here to admit Sandhya to college, and tried his best but for some unknown reasons failed to submit the form in time.

Bhabo doesn’t believe him, Suraj now says it is true, he came here for admitting Sandhya in college.

Bhabo’s hand trembles as she clutches the empty jewellery box.

Mohit goes on to say that Suraj did his best, filled up 4 page form all by himself though he never did went to college himself, but took care to solve each and everything of the form.

Sandhya held a look of gratitude for Suraj.

Mohit continues to makes fun of Suraj.
Chavi too carries on, after having a look at the form, says Suraj even wrote Bhabi’s (Sandhya’s) wishes.
Chavi was reading aloud what Suraj wrote as Sandy’s wishes in the form–> like love for books, wanting to become an honest officer, serving the nation, etc. etc.

Bhabasa stops everyone from creating a mockery of Suraj, stops Mohit and Chavi from blabbering much and asks Suraj straightaway why he did this inspite of knowing Bhabo’s wishes. He says why he went against the same Bhabo whom he requests for anything as if requesting from God. Bhabasa asks the reason.

Suraj said he did all this just because of Sandhya, and he has high regards for Bhabo and her words but he couldn’t help but try his best as he didn’t want to let Sandhya’s one year go in waste.

Bhabo is shocked She says that she could not believe her own Suraj going against her wishes just for the sake of Sandhya and failing to properly carry out the responsibility which had been given to him.

Bhabo says Suraj needs to respect Bhabo and her words. She says the dream of Sandhya would have suited if she were a wife of a doctor or an engineer, or teacher, but for a halwai like him, who sells 2 rupees jalebi, an IPS wife doesn’t suit him and neither will society accept him. Moreover, he will be mocked by everyone for that, and says at least Suraj should trust her in these matters.

Bhabo says water has no value when it is running through a tap near a shanty, the common people use it for drinking water, washing to even cleaning their chappals (slippers) but when the same water goes to Ganges, the water of Ganga is considered pious.

Suraj replies Bhabo in style, says tap water is also used for drinking, and at least it quenches the thirst of a person.

Moreover we use the same water for washing the utensils (container) where we bring in water from the ganges.

Suraj says even a wife of Halwai has a heart, and she has two eyes to dream about, she is like others.

Bhabo says she also has two eyes and her own dreams and why Suraj never cared for Bhabo’s dreams which depict stark reality rather than some rosy dreams.

Suraj is much pained, says he is not feeling like to argue further and folds his hands and says he will leave.
All the while, Mohit and Chavi were enjoying every bit of it and making faces as if what is happening is right and Suraj has been served right by Bhabo for going against her wishes and admitting that,
