Diya Aur Baati Hum 5th October 2012 Written Update

Sandhya says their parents have never distinguished between son and daughter and they both received equal love and care and they should at least follow it in their house. She asks pandit whether she is right. Pandit says she is right and they make arrangements for hawan. Some neighbor lady tells her friend Sandhya had stopped her bhabhi from performing some rasam during her parents death also. Bhabho listens to it.

Hawan is completed. Everyone give blessings and gifts to the baby. Bhabho gives gold kangan and blesses the baby. Sandhya has collected all those gifts and goes to keep it inside. She goes to a room and keeps all those gifts on a desk and turns while she notices a gift pack and letter kept in front of her parents photo. She goes and takes it and reads the letter “gift from parents to their daughter Sandhya.” Sandhya is confused who has kept it there and what. She then sees Suraj’s reflection on her parents photo. Suraj tells her it is a gift from her parents for her, last gift. He tells her to open the gift. She opens it and sees the pen. She is more confused about it as how Suraj knows it is from her parents as he has not met them before. Suraj denies it and says he has met them before and reminds her the incident where she calls her father’s mobile during the blast incident and tells her she spoke to him then. He then further says it was him who had taken them to the hospital and he was with him at the last minutes of their life. He also says that Bhabhasa told him that everything happens for a reason and is symbolic of their jodi being made in heaven as his parents might have selected him for their daughter. Sandhya gets emotional and tearful and thanks him as a daughter for having helped her parents at that moment. Suraj says not to say thanks and tells her to not get tearful on a happy occasion and wipes her tears. A small girl comes and informs them they are calling Sandhya and they go to the hall.

Panditji asks Ankita to call bua to perform the “seekh” rasam. Sandhya comes there and takes the book. She goes to the baby who is in the cradle and sees her parents photo and starts writing the letter. She writes for the baby to fulfill its grandfather’s wish which his daughter could not fulfill and her father had always dreamt of his daughter to become an IPS officer. She would be happy to see the child fulfilling this dream. Ankur and Ankita standing behind her are regretful. Sandhya keeps the letter behind the baby’s head.

Music starts and Sandhya dances with some kids. Suraj is smiling seeing this. Daisa drags Bhabho, Ankur and everyone to dance. Ankur just joins them clapping. While they are dancing, Ankita picks the baby and gives it to Bhabho. Bhabho admiring the baby and Bhabhasa wants to pamper it, Bhabho denies and Bhabhasa says he used to manage all his kids, then Bhabho gives the baby to him. He tells baby reminds him of Chavvi. Then, Chavvi takes the baby, then Vikram and Mohit also come there. Vikram says after seeing the beautiful baby, he also wants a baby girl. Suraj takes the baby and then Daisa takes it from him. Then, the letter falls down and Suraj takes it. Ankur sees this and is having flashback of his and Sandhya’s conversation the previous day where he wants to tell Suraj about her dream and Sandhya warns him not to giving her kasam. He is hesitant what to do and just watching it. Suraj opens the letter and is about to read, a small boy offers him mixture (namkeen). He has some and then rubs his eye with the same hand and his eye gets irritated. Sandhya sees it and goes to him and brings a glass of water for him to wash his eyes. Suraj keeps the letter on a desk and washes his eyes, then forgets about the letter and goes from there. Ankur is just watching it. Ankita comes to him and gives some gift covers to give it to Rathis. Ankur then goes near the letter, is in thoughts and then keeps the letter in a cover named Suraj ji. He is thinking that Sandhya’s dream is more important for him than her kasam and also believes that if Suraj learns about Sandhya’s dream, he would definitely help her.
