Diya Aur Baati Hum 31st October 2012 Written Update

Sandhya applying bedspread. She is visibly troubled and having flashbacks of the Suraj asking her to promise on him. Suraj comes there. He sees her and understands, then helps her in covering the bed. He is about to speak something when Chathuri calls him saying Chavvi’s in-laws have come.

In the hall, Dilip and his mother have come. They ask Bhabho to send Chavvi with them for an engagement. Phone rings and Sandhya attends it. Chavvi’s friend had called to inform her that the next day is the last day for final year admission. Sandhya is confused how to inform this in front of everyone. Bhabho refuses Dilip’s mother’s invitation saying in their family, let alone girls, boys also will not attend in-laws functions before marriage. Dilip’s mother says she agrees and respects Bhabho’s opinion but her relatives have urged her to bring their would-be daughter-in-law and also it is held in Ajmer which is nearer to Pushkar. Meanwhile, Chavvi gives eye signals to Dilip towards Mohit and he understands it. He calls Mohit to join them in the function who readily agrees but then says if Bhabho agrees. Dilip’s mother also says now Mohit is also coming so Bhabho might not have any problem. Bhabho sees Bhabhasa who consents and she asks Chavvi and Mohit to get ready.

Chavvi goes to her room to take clothes. Sandhya goes behind her and tells her that the next day was the last day for Chavvi’s college admission. Bhabho at the doorstep listing to this. Chavvi grumbles what is Sandhya’s problem and says maybe Sandhya considers her education first than her in-laws wish but she considers her in-laws wishes first as opposed to her education. Sandhya asks her to at least give the certificates so she can get the admission done. Chavvi says everything is in the cupboard and she can take it afterwards and allow her to get ready. Sandhya is upset and while returning back, she sees Bhabho holding jewel box and asks her to give and Bhabho says she will give it herself.

Bhabho is in thoughts with flashback of Suraj asking her permission for Sandhya’s further studies and devising a plan.

Suraj comes to Mohit and gives him money. Mohit refuses but Suraj insists him to take. Sandhya brings his dress for him. Mohit thanks her for it. Chavvi and Mohit are ready to go. Bhabho comes there and stops Mohit, says he is irresponsible and would not take care of Chavvi and asks Suraj to go with Chavvi. Mohit displeased. Suraj goes to get ready.

Dilip and his mother along with Chavvi and Suraj take leave from Bhabho. Suraj is upset seeing a sad Sandhya and keeps checking on her until he crosses the road. Sandhya and Bhabho enter home. Bhabho locks the door and thinks if she diverts Suraj’s attention for one whole day, then the delay of a year will cool down his spirit.

The next morning, Sandhya drying clothes, upset remembering the lock and key convo between SurYa. She thinks over Suraj’s words of taking a wrong decision and suppressing her dream would hurt her more and sometimes thinking too much is not good. Meena sees and wants to rub salt on Sandhya’s wounds so she comes to her. She says Sandhya along with schooling must have learnt acting too. Sandhya is confused and Meena goes on explaining the previous day Sandhya’s drama was good , by scolding Suraj she got into Bhabho’s good books and she knows how to fool others. Sandhya is angry and replies back she does not need to fool anyone and if ever she has the need, she would come to Meena to learn the skill. Meena gets angry and speaks in a loud voice. Bhabho seeing them from downstairs scolds Meena as why she went to help Sandhya while she has kept some sweet for her in the kitchen and Meena flies to eat it. Bhabho asks Sandhya to come to kitchen once she finishes her work.

In Ajmer, Suraj is arranging his clothes in the suitcase. Dilip comes asking for Chavvi and then takes Suraj to meet with his relatives. He meets Suraj with an old couple who happens to be Suraj’s chacha and chachi. They have a convo.

Bhabho is cutting vegetables. Sandhya comes there and offers help. Bhabho tells her not to do these small things and get ready for exam. Sandhya is surprised listening exam and asks what exam (with lots of hopes). Bhabhasa reading newspaper mutters what exam she is speaking of. Bhabho asks her to remember the day before and asks her to prepare a dish herself as a test. Sandhya names the dish and Bhabho asks whether she remembers the ingredients. Sandhya is sad but memorizes all the ingredients fast. Bhabho is taken back but tells she has good memory and now go and prepare the dish. Sandhya is depressed and attentionless. She starts preparing the dish by frying sooji in ghee.

Chathuri is arranging pooja thali. Bhabho sees it and asks whether she knows the reason for doing pooja in Karthik month and Chathuri answers they get the whole year’s punya if they light diyas during Karthik month. Bhabho asks Sandhya to prepare some tea. Sandhya prepares it too. Meanwhile, Bhabhasa asks for water and Bhabho goes to bring water. While taking water, she sees the kadai and gets angry what is Sandhya doing. Bhabhasa asks what wrong she did and Bhabho tells him that Sandhya is preparing the dish using sooji instead of wheat flour.

Precap: Sandhya asks Bhabho to allow her to go and fill Chavvi’s admission form. Bhabho refuses her help but asks Mohit to do it who is angry on Bhabho and backanswers her saying he is irresponsible and let her call Suraj to do the work.
