Diya Aur Baati Hum 17th August 2012 Written Update

Episode starts with Suraj attempting to select his second ingredient but Gary announces time is up. In Pushkar, all are worried and Mohit is displeased with Suraj. Suraj takes his cream carton. They go to their respective tables.

Gary announces a good cook is one who makes a tasty dish within the ingredients available to him and will be considered the World’s Top Cook and wishes them. Mathie and Brandon start cooking. Suraj is simply standing, thinking of what to make and praying God. Mathie demotivates him again that his ingredients have no combination and even God cannot help him. Bhabho, Bhabhasa and Sandhya worried seeing Suraj. Suraj suddenly remembers the Teej celebration they had and Sandhya saying Indian culture in foreign land (something indicating fusion). He then thinks he will try doing a different kind of baati with those ingredients. He starts making dough. Sandhya and Bhabho discussing that Suraj is trying to make baati and Bhabho thinks of what will he stuff in them. Suraj cuts some of the fruits into small pieces and makes it as stuffing for the baati. Then, he bakes the baatis in owen. Mathie seeing this thinks Suraj is doing something different and she should not let him win and thinks of a plan for that and she remembers Gary saying that mushrooms when cooked in wine get poisonous.

Sandhya appreciates Suraj’s idea of making the dish but Bhabho is worried as it should taste good also. Suraj makes sugar syrup with the brown sugar and cream. He starts decorating his plates. Puts the sugar syrup in the middle, spreads them evenly and decorates it with cream topping, places the baati on one corner and flower baskets on the other corder. He feels it is missing something, so he tries making sugar baskets by pouring the syrup on a cup and places it over the baati.

Mathie starts with her plan carefully looking at the cameras and everything, does something and creates a lot of smoke and all are confused as to what is happening as they could not see properly because of smoke. She then takes a vinegar bottle and empties the bottle by pouring it in the sink. Later takes another vinegar bottle she had and drops it willingly and cries out that her vinegar bottle is dropped and she has no vinegar now, what will she add now. She then mixes some ingredients in sauce and thinking that now Suraj will definitely help her and Suraj offers his vinegar bottle. She then asks him to add it into the dish as her hands are covered with sauce so Suraj adds the vinegar to the dish. Sandhya seeing this is surprised why Suraj instead of doing his work, adding something to Mathie’s dish.

Then, Suraj smells something burning and warns Brandon and it is Brandon’s dish which got overcooked. Suraj finishes decorating his dish. Judges announce the time is up and everyone are finished with their work. Suraj prays God that the dish should taste good. Mathie is thinking that she cannot imagine what will happen to Suraj once the WTC is over as she would make his situation horrible.

Meena and Sudha having chat in the market. Chathuri is walking with flashbacks of how RK introduced himself to her and how Ishwar kaka denied RK does not belong to their village. She is worried as to why he has come into the house telling lies and she has to inform Meena as they have let him into the house because of Chathuri. She sees Meena and Sudha and tries to speak to Meena but the sisters duo run off as Chathuri would tell Bhabho about them eating chat in the market.

Precap: Judges are tasting the dishes. Gary tastes Mathie’s dish and get dizzy.
