Divyaalakshmi is happy to be back on TV after a hiatus of 16 months
Divyaalakshmi, who is currently essaying the role of the intelligent and funny Delhi girl Bulbul in Life OK’s Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath, is paired opposite Aamir Dalvi, who plays one of the cops in the show.
The actress started shooting for this show at the end of August. This was exactly 16 months after her exit from FIR in which she played a lady constable.
We spoke to this very pretty looking actress about her 16 months journey while she was away from the television industry.
When asked her as to where she was all these months, she replied, “I did not take any show after FIR for a long period because whatever was offered to me was not that appealing.”
However, there were other things for her to do. In fact, the actress calls the time of her hiatus as the happiest phase of her life. “Not many people know that I am associated with ‘Art of Living’ and I teach in batches of 200 to 500 students. Hence, I was busy travelling all around teaching under-privileged kids,” she remarked.
Moving on, she said, “I also love writing, hence, when I had the time, I penned down certain thoughts that I had in mind for a long time. I started writing at a very young age, but had not done so for quite some time. So in this period where I had enough time for myself, I did everything I had not done for all this while.”
Though Divyaalakshmi has been in the industry for six years, she has done a selected few projects like Jyoti on NDTV Imagine, FIR and has also featured in the Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Break Ke Baad.
Ask her the reason for being so selective, and she quipped, “Since I am very fussy about my projects, I cannot do anything and everything that comes my way. I want to do different projects and do not mind waiting for it.” So is she contented with her current project? “My character in Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath is very appealing. There is a lot to do here with new stories coming in. But it’s too early to come to a conclusion,” she ended.
