Dipping numbers force creatives to bring changes in Mahadev’s storyline

Life OK, all this while, has been riding high on the success of its numero uno show Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (Triangle Film Company).

Mahadev made its lead, Mohit Raina, superbly famous. But ever since the creatives decided to bring in the Ramayan plot, ratings took a dip.

And in this week’s ratings, Shapath has beaten Mahadev and has become the number one show on the channel.

Obviously, television is all about number game and the drop in TVTs has alarmed the creative team of Mahadev.

Now, it has been decided that the Ramayan track will be wrapped up at a galloping space and the story will re focus on Mahadev and his histrionics.

As per our sources, after Ravan (Tarun Khanna) will kidnap Sita (Rubina Dilaik), Ram (Piyush Sahdev) would meet Hanuman (Vishal Kotian) without adding too much of a drama.

When we spoke to Vishal (Hanuman), he said, “Yes, there has been a fall in TVTs. But this is a mythological show where you cannot change the storyline. What has happened in the past has to be shown. So the Ramayan tracks will be now fast tracked. There would be one major highlight and that is when Ram would meet Hanuman.”

So does the production plan to wrap up the sequence of Ramayan in a jiffy?

Clears producer Nikhil Sinha, “TVTs do keep falling and rising. I agree that there has been a fall in numbers but one cannot say it is because of the Ramayan track or not. As a matter of fact, you can only assume how the audience will react to the sequences.”

“The Ramayan track will continue as planned till mid- October and we are rectifying it by introducing interesting tracks on Mahadev running parallel to the Ramayan track to keep our audience hooked on to the show if at all number dip is due to Ramayan,” Sinha adds.

All we can say, if a show is on Mahadev…let’s keep the focus straight!!!
