I think now if they (producers) tried (which they obviously will, since it is the whole point of the show) to get Dev and Sona together, its just a forceful pairing. They did not do a good job of convincing viewers that both people are truly in love with each other. I think they got too carried away with the concept of “a girl falling in true love” making Sona that typical girl in love, that they forgot about Dev. It has yet to be established that Dev really loves Sona. So far, he was just caring and worrying about her, both for the sake of humanity.
Do they ever show him thinking about her? Missing her? Having a dream about her? Staring at her as she talks? Getting mesmerized by her? (BTW, they used to do stuff like this at the beginning of the show, I think. Him sending her flowers, etc.) Now that I think about it, I think this show too, as all Indian dramas tend to be, is following the story of the girl more than the guy. It’s being narrated almost as first person in Sona’s perspective. Besides, that’s how they always show Dev now anyways—When he’s with someone else. Never by himself, thinking and talking to himself like they do with Sona.
Man I miss those good old days when Dev and Sona used to act like themselves and actually show some true emotion and character. Now, Dev is swooning over Natasha, impressed by really nothing, and Sona is blinded in love. They are not themselves anymore; they’ve changed….for the worse. Don’t feel like I’m watching the same show I was.

I totally agree with you! In the beginning of the show, when they *sort of* showed both perspectives, it seemed like there would be an amazing chemistry between the characters. But now that they focus mainly on Sona, they forget Dev and this makes her look stupid. Sure, there are a few moments when Dev is shown subtly caring or thinking about Sona, but with the entrance of Natasha, these moments should be highlighted to show his hidden feelings but instead they are camouflaged for viewers to extract and *analyze*. Also, I feel like the interfering nature of Radha (the way she’s always taunting Sona) is making it more dramatic than it should be, and the show is losing its touch of contemporariness. The fact that the story is contemporary with dabs of typical Indian drama-ness is what makes it so amazing. But sometimes that drama (aka Radha) gets too much, and it leads to the story straying off the romantic path intended… Idk, that’s just my opinion.

Thank you for that wonderful analysis! You really understood what I meant about Dev, thank you! He’s just been side-lined.
And I totally agree with how Radha has been focused on more than she should be. They were only supposed to include her so that she could cause incidents that would instigate love between Dev and Sona and give reasons for them to be together. But now she’s become so important that she is influencing Ishwari to make wrong decisions.
