Deepshikha Nagpal to bounce back with a comic thriller
Remembering the bad days, she says, “It was a big jolt. Since I was very upset, I went into a shell for six/seven months.” So what went wrong? “It was a very big thing for a first time lady producer to not only complete her film, but even release it. I don’t think it was a bad film (for I got rave reviews). The marketing was also okay, but I guess the release window went wrong. It rained heavily when we hit the theaters and the next release was Dabangg. May be, we should have waited for a few months more. Then, we did not get the right advice.” Looking ahead she says,“ I am back in the groove now.”
She continues, “Hits or flops are not in our hands, even Salman Khan has given flops. Hence, I have decided to positively use these learning for my future project that I will soon announce. This time, I have decided to make a film on what the public wants and not what I want. Hence, it will be a total entertainer in the form of a comic thriller.”
Last time Deepshika had taken too many responsibilities on her shoulder (producer, director, writer, screenplay). “This time, hubby Keshav Arora and me have decided to share the burden. While he will oversee production, I will handle the creative side of things. One other big change is that unlike Yeh Dooriyan, this time, I will now continue to work in outside projects as well.”
Deepshikha is also a playing a glamorous mom in Sony Entertainment Television ‘s new show Hongey Judaa Naa Hum as well.
