Crime Patrol to bring another heart wrenching story of molestation

This weekend Sony TV’s Crime Patrol will depict a case of a girl Vidya who is molested by the goons in her village.

Delhi’s Nirbhaya case had highlighted the vulnerability of our women in a big way. The subsequent amendment in the law and provision for harsher punishment like death penalty for the perpetrators was a timely intervention by the Government to curb this menace. But have these measures actually proved to be deterrent? The answer is a big NO; at least the plight of 16 year old Vidya Mishra says so.

Crime Patrol brings another heart wrenching story of a 16 year old girl Vidya Mishra from Ruibagachi village, West Bengal. One fateful night, Vidya falls victim to the evil designs of goons when she steps out of her house to buy some milk for her father’s morning tea. When her father returns late in the night, he finds the door latched from outside and realizes that his daughter is missing. Eventually they lodge a missing complaint at the police station. The police officers take the complaint quite casually and delay her search till the next morning. Will the villagers be able to find Vidya?
