Colors’ in-house event Golden Petal Awards has been ignoring Uttaran – Tina Dutta
The beautiful and talented Tina Dutta is quite happy with the ongoing track in her hit Colors show Uttaran.
“Meethi and Akash (Mrunal Jain) are getting married and Mukta (Sreejita De) is also getting her love. I am glad that Meethi is getting into the shoes of Ichcha (her previous avatar in the show) and this is helping me get audience’s love and affection. There are lots of shades to play around e.g. my post leap character got handicapped and how Akash nursed her back to health was interesting to portray.”
When asked as to which factors make this FilmFarm India project rock and she says, “Team work, storyline and actors’ hard work. When fans walk up to us and praise our work, it gives us more energy to do even better.”
But here Tina adds, “It is very disappointing that after doing so well for the past five years, I have not really got any major recognition through awards. Forget me, even the lady Vaishali Thakkar who plays my screen mother is such a fabulous actor. She makes you cry and the poor thing has not got a single award till date.”
“I further feel that most of the awards are fake and that genuine people never get their due. I avoid attending such dos except when I am performing. What is more hurting is that the Colors’ in-house award (Petals) is also ignoring Uttaran. To remind people of facts, we have won Best Jodi only once.”
Looking ahead, Tina would love to take part in a dance reality show like Nach Baliye in the future. “By the time I might have found some guy I like as well. As for fiction I would like to try a negative or a very bold positive character, not something run of the mill.” However for the moment she is happy with Uttaran.“I regard it as my baby and have not yet felt the need to move on.”
In a candid mood Tina makes a frank admission. “I don’t believe that anybody in the TV industry can be your best friend. My best friend is a designer and she really loves me. On set I get along with Rashmi Desai, Mrunal Jain and Ajay Singh Chaudhary. Ajay is the best to be with, for he fools around a lot. He is a genuine sweet heart, and we have a blast.”
In closing we ask Tina about her hobbies and she says, “Being a bong I dig different cuisines. I also enjoy checking out the latest movies; however I was turned off by Saif Ali Khan’s latest flick Bullett Raja.”
Good going, Tina.
