CID 25th August 2012 Written Update

Case title – Gireftaar CID Officer Vineet

Scene 1

At the helipad

It was night when CID team comprising of Acp, Daya, Sachin and Nikhil are waiting behind a tree to stop a drug deal from taking place. A man, whose face is not yet visible to us or the CID team, is waiting with a briefcase, when another man appears in a car. They exchange the briefcase with an evelope and are about to leave when the CID team attacks the man who had the briefcase now. They surround him from all sides. He is asked to drop his gun, but before he could do it, someone shot him. It was the man who was waiting at the spot; it was none other than Inspector Vineet of CID. ACP is furious. He asks Nikhil to take the injured man to a hospital and asks Vineet why he shot the man. Vineet replies that he would have otherwise killed ACP and thus had to shoot in order to save ACP’s life. Daya shows Vineet the briefcase and the drug packets inside it, seeing which Vineet is shocked. He tells them that his friend had asked him to deliver the briefcase to the man and thus he was here. He adds that his friend Hitesh was unwell since few days. He had taken Hitesh to the doctor’s clinic, but since it was crowded, Hitesh requested him to deliver the briefcase on his behalf.ACP asks him to take them to the clinic.

Scene 2

The doctor’s Clinic

When they reach the clinic, they find nothing but an empty house with nothing that could make it look like a clinic. Vineet is shocked. He repeatedly tells the team that this was exactly the place where he had come with Hitesh and there was a queue when they had come. Daya finds out from neighbouring houses, that the clinic was shut since 2 years. ACP tells Vineet that he is in grave danger.Daya puts the hand cuffs around Vineet’s wrists.

Scene 3

Inside a house

A man is seen to be celebrating the arrest of Vineet. He says that their Plan 1 has been successful. Another man, whose face is not shown to us, says that its time for Plan 2.

Scene 4

CID Bureau

At the Bureau, ACP is furious at Vineet. He says he never expected this from someone like him- A CID officer as a drugs peddler.Vineet keeps on saying that he has been framed. He turns to Daya asking him to believe him but Daya says he cant find any reason for doing so.ACP adds that the man who was shot by Vineet at the helipad was now in Coma. He says that Vineet will have to be suspended. Vineet tells them that Hitesh had been staying at his house since few days as he was unwell. He adds that Hitesh might be in some sort of danger or else he must have been here to help him prove his innocence. He requests ACP to check at his residence once, to which ACP agrees as he believes they must make sure no innocent is ever punished.

Scene 5

Vineet’s residence

Vineet unlocks the door of his house and they get in. He says that he always wanted to invite the team at his home but never ever thought that this day would come like this. He checks the room where Hitesh was staying but finds no one there. Even his luggage had vanished. ACP does not believe him. He says Vineet is just trying to make up stories. Daya notices something under the bed and is shocked. ACP notices this and asks him the reason. After a bit of hesitation, Daya shows him a syringe that was lying under the bed. ACP suggests that the syringe had drugs in it and concludes that Vineet must have been a drug addict!! By this time, there was a crowd of curious people standing at the door. On noticing a man in the crowd, Vineet brings him inside and introduces him to be his friend Varun. Varun confirms that he knows Hitesh as he,Hitesh and Vineet were all friends since childhood. Vineet and Varun used to stay in the building, but Hitesh had settled at Nagpur. However, to Vineet’s surprise, Varun refuses to accept the fact that Hitesh was staying at Vineet’s residence since few days. he says he has abolutely no clue that Hitesh was in Mumbai !!

Scene 6

Forensic Lab

Dr.Salunke confirms that the blood marks on the syringe belong to Vineet. There were traces of drugs found in the syringe. ACP shouts on Vineet but he keeps on pleading for innocence. Salunke adds that the injured man at the helipad was a famous drug dealer. ACP accuses Vineet of drug peddling as well as being a drug addict. Nikhil then takes him away. ACP asks Sachin to visit the helipad again and look for the envelope which the man had given Vineet.

Scene 7

At the Helipad

Sachin and Nikhil arrive at the helipad and search the place minutely. They find an yellow envelope nearby and inside it they find some photographs. In the photographs, Vineet is seen shooting at a man in a jungle. Nikhil says that Vineet must have been blackmailed with those photgraphs, but Sachin shows trust on Vineet and says that he feels he was being framed.

Scene 8

Forensic lab

It was dark inside the forensic lab when Sachin and Nikhil enter with their torch lights on. Sachin asks Nikhil to look for a screen while he himself finds the projector. They put up the screen and check the photos found inside the envelope minutely. A water tank in the middle of the jungle was noticed, but it wasnt that clear. In another photo, Sachin notices a residential building nearby and suggests that the area must be around XYZ nagar(i dont remember the name) as that is the only residential place close to the jungle. Before they could leave for further investigation, ACP and Salunke enter. Salunke scolds Sachin for entering the lab without his permission and ACP asks him about the matter. He notices the photos in his hand and asks him to show them. ACP is left shocked on seeing the photos and scolds Sachin for hiding the matter from him. He tells them to go and find the place in the photos, and take Daya along with them as he doesnt trust the two of them anymore.

Scene 9

In the jungle

Daya, Sachin and Nikhil are in the Qualis; Daya tells them that he trusts Vineet as much as ACP or Abhijeet does After sometime he asks Sachin to stop the car. They find the place shown in the photo, the same building in the background and the water tank in the middle of the jungle. Daya wonders that if Vineet had actually killed someone at this place, they must find the dead body nearby. They start searching the jungle, and soon Nikhil finds something suspicious and calls Daya. He shows them the wet and loose ground at a particular place. The three of them then dig the place and are shocked to find the dead body of the man in the photo.

Scene 10

Photo studio

Abhijeet, Rajat and Purvi visit the photo studio where the photos were washed. The shopkeeper tells them that he had thought the pics were taken at the sets of some movie while shooting and thus didnt feel anything suspicious. He informs them the photos were washed by Hitesh.

Scene 11

Hitesh’s house

Abhijeet, Rajat and Freddy go to Hitesh’s house. Hitesh doesnt open the door even after repeated ringing of the doorbell.(Note : Hitesh is the same person who was shown to be celebrating the success of Plan 1 in scene 3) Freddy breaks open the door.They notice Hitesh jumping out his house through a window and then the chase follows. Abhijeet shoots in the air, but Hitesh gets scared and falls to the ground and gets caught. He says that he has done nothing.

Scene 12

Forensic lab

AT the forensic lab, Salunke informs that the man had died 2 days back, i.e. the same day when Vineet was arrested, but in the afternoon at around 3-4 p.m. Vineet is brought here and he recognizes the man as Hitesh, his friend. He says he had taken Hitesh to the clinic in the afternoon and went to the helipad at night. The man caught by Abhijeet, who calls himself Hitesh too is brought inside. Vineet refuses to recognise him and says that he is not the Hitesh he knew. ACP shouts on Vineet and says that he had killed the man in the jungle and had also gone to the helipad for the drug deal. He informs Hitesh that he could now go and he is an honest man.

Scene 13

ACP, Daya, Sachin, Vineet and Purvi are waiting in the qualis to follow Hitesh. Daya praises ACP’s smart move of letting Hitesh go so that they could catch his mates in the plan or the mastermind. ACP says that its Salunke who should be thanked as it was him who had informed them about the truth at the right moment.

Flashback

Salunke hurries into the bureau and informs ACP that the photographs were forged. Vineet’s photo was planted on top of someone else’s picture using photoshop. ACP concludes that Vineet was framed into the entire matter. Vineet breaks down; says he has been an honest officer always, and will continue being so. He says he would punish the people who are responsible for his terrible condition. Nikhil apologises to Vineet for not trusting him to which Vineet replies that they were just doing their own duty.

Back to the present

Ins the Qualis, CID follows the auto in which Hitesh is going somewhere. Hitesh reaches a bunglow where Varun was waiting to shoot him. He says that CID must have not have been a fool to have let go Hitesh and thus he must kill Hitesh in order to save himself. Before he could shoot, CID team comes in. Varun warns that he would kill himself if the CID team doesnt let him go. ACP asks his team to put his gun down and also tells Varun not to be so foolish to commit another crime !! Varun loses the grip on his gun when Daya jumps on him from behind and gives him a tight slap.

Confession :

Varun says that he wanted to take revenge from Vineet as he had refused his sister’s love. Vineet says that she was just a friend of his. Varun says that his sister had become a drug addict because of the refusal and then died due to drug overdose. Hitesh helped him in his plan. He had placed a blade in one of Vineet’s drawers by which Vineet’s finger got cut. He then transfered the blood from the blade to the syringe.ACP says he had commited a crime and thus would be facing severe consequences now.
