CID 22nd July 2012 Written Update

Raaz Qatil Auzar ka

Scene : Road, late at night
A driver is driving his employer’s car. He turns around, looks at his employer and finds him fast asleep. Suddenly someone falls in front of his car. The driver brakes hard and goes to look at the fallen man and finds him dead! The driver tries to wake up his employer in the back seat of the car and finds him dead too. He’s terrified and calls CID.

Scene : Bureau

Daya takes the call. While the driver is taking the call, someone catches the driver from behind and shuts his mouth. Daya grows suspicious and asks Shreya to trace the number.
Shreya finds that the call came from the Wildlife sanctuary.

Scene : Road in the middle of the jungle
CID team rushes to the crime spot. Among the crowd that had collected around the bodies, one person identifies the man who had fallen in front of the car as forest guard Mevaram.

Rajat finds that Mevaram’s neck was slit and is surprised that Mevara,m was wearing a leather jacket. Abhijeet finds mud all over his body. Rajat considers the possibility that Mevaram might have been chased by someone and then got hit the by the car. Abhijeet checks Mevaram’s knees and doesn’t find any signs of the car having hit him.

CID team finds the driver’s neck slit too. Abhijeet looks into the car and identifies the third dead man as Tarun Kumar – the famous actor-director. His lips and nails had turned blue meaning he was poisoned. Abhijeet finds a lunch box in the car and tries to check if there was any poisoned food in it, but finds that it had a packet with 2 small fish. Abhijeet asks for the bodies and the fish to be sent to the forensic lab and decides to go into the jungle with Rajat and Nikhil taking some of the local guys as guides.

Abhijeet first finds blood on a tree trunk and decides to follow the path to find out where Mevaram might have come from. Abhijeet notices someone trying to follow them.He asks Rajat to check one path and he himself takes another path. Abhijeet catches the guy who was following them and asks him to explain why he was following them. The guy says that he was just curious. Abhijeet lets him go.
After some time, they find lots of blood on the ground. Abhijeet assumes that this was the spot where Mevaram was attacked and asks Rajat and Nikhil to check the surrounding area. Finally Nikhil finds a raincoat button and a watch on the ground. Then they also find a single shoe which probably wasn’t Mevaram’s as Mevaram had both shoes on.
Scene : Forest guard’s office
CID team questions the forest officer Shekhar about the murders. Shekhar says that Tarun Kumar and his brother were staying in the forest bungalow since 2-3 days, but asks Sachin as to what the deaths had to do with the forest office, since it was an accident on the highway. Sachin explains that Mevaram was murdered and it was not an accident.Shekhar explains that Mevaram was a lazy worker who was also an alcoholic and often picked up quarrels with the others.
The CID team is about to leave when some local men come to the forest office complaining that the fish in the lake were all dead. Sachin asks the men whether these deaths happen frequently. One man says that often after a rain, they find lots of dead fish in the lake and many people fall ill after eating the fish. Sachin asks for a few of the dead fish to be sent to Salunkhe.

Scene: Mevaram’s house

Rajat questions Mevaram’s wife who explains that he had started drinking and was suspended for bad behaviour. She also says that Mevaram always wanted to meet the ‘new officer’, but couldn’t get a chance; he used to wear a leather jacket and go out often; he had a quarrel with one man in the village. She adds that Mevaram had gone with the same man the previous night. Rajat asks her to make a sketch of the man.

Scene : Forest officer’s bungalow.

Sachin, Freddie and Vineet question Tarun’s brother. Tarun tells Sachin that the previous evening Tarun was feeling unwell and that was talking to his friends about dead fish.
Scene : Bureau

Abhijeet finds out that the watch which was found at the murder spot was purchased at Jabalpur.
(Is it so easy? Can my Titan be found out too?)
Abhijeet speaks to the shopkeeper who tells him the name of the buyer – Sanjay.
(I never entered my name at the shop while buying my watch…) The shopkeeper gives the address. ACP arrives and asks Daya to find Sanjay’s whereabouts.
CID team discuss what would have happened to Tarun Kumar…and reach the conclusion that the poisoning might have happened in the jungle.
Scene : Lab

Salunkhe tells the CID team that the poison had entered Tarun’s body through some cuts which were present on his arms and all over the body.

Scene : Bureau
Mevaram’s wife makes the sketch of the man with whom Mevaram had gone out the previous day. Abhijeet recognises the man as the same guy who had tried to follow him to the jungle.
Scene: Village

CID team show the sketch to various people who refuse to recognise the man. Meanwhile the forest officer Shekhar and his assistant Ajit arrive there. Shekhar asks ACP to take Ajit along while investigating as he knows the local area and the jungle well.
One man in the village recognises the man in the sketch as Mohan and shows Mohan’s house.

CID team knocks Mohan’s house. His wife opens the door and says that he was not available at home. ACP is a bit suspicious. The lady is about the close the door when CID team push open the door again to see Mohan jumping out of a window. CID team chases him into the jungle.

AFter some time, Mohan is joined by his companions who have guns and there’s and exchange of fire between CID team and Mohan and his companions. During the fight Purvi and Ajit get cuts on their bodies from the sharp branches in the forest, sachin notices this. Mohan and his friends escape into the jungle. ACP hears footsteps and fires. CID team go to the spot where ACP had fired and find Mohan – dead. (Excellent shot by ACP )
Suddenly Purvi faints and is taken to the hospital.

Scene : Mohan’s house

Mohan’s wife explains that Mohan had suddenly started earning lots of money and had even left his previous job. Sachin and Nikil search the house. Nikhil finds a shoe(the pair of the one found at the murder spot) under some bushes. He puts his hand inside to take the shoe out when his hand is cut by the sharp leaves. He shouts to ACP and Sachin (small cut and hecalled ACP for help??? ) Sachin takes the shoe out carefully. ACP looks at the leaf and understands that the ‘auzaar’ – the murder weapon was none other than the sharp leaves and branches of the forest.

Scene: Sanjay’s house in Jabalpur.
Daya and Shreya talk to Sanjay’s wife. She recognises the watch and tells that Sanjay died 2 years back and had bought the watch for his colleague.

Scene : Lab

Salunkhe informs that the poison which was found in Tarun’s body was the same synthetic poison which was found in the dead fish and also Purvi’s blood.
ACP concludes that all the plants in the forest were smeared with the poison and when it rained the poison also entered the river, causing the fish to die. Mevaram knew about the poison smeared on the plants, hence he used to wear leather jacket while entering the forest. There was a certain area of poisoned plants and trees created in the forest in order to prevent people from entering there.

ACP asks Salunkhe if an antidote to this poison was available. Salunkhe says yes.
Scene : Forest
CID team members take the antidote and enter the forest (with Salunkhe).

Salunkhe checks the leaves and finds all leaves and branches smeared with poison. The go deep into the forest.

After some time CID team finds a tent in the jungle. They go towards it, looking through binoculars and find people taking in animals like rabbits, snakes and even a tiger cub inside and coming out empty handed.
Sachin and Nikhil stealthily move towards the tent and attack the men outside the tent. 2 others come out of the tent and find their unconscious colleagues. CID team arrests the men and then enter the tent. They find cages filled with dead animals and are shocked. The tent is a kind of lab where the animals were killed and their parts were extracted sold to manufacture drugs and cosmetics.
ACP questions the 3 men who explain that they had never seen their boss.
Scene : Forest (again)
ACP looks at a file to find out who was the colleague of the forest officer Sanjay in Jabalpur to whom Sanjay had gifted the watch. He finds the name and walks towards the 3 arrested men and the 2 forest officers – Shekhar and Ajit.

ACP asks Ajit as to where his watch was. Ajit says that he never wore a watch. ACP pulls Ajit’s sleeve up and finds the untanned mark on the wrist left by Ajit’s watch. Ajit says that it didn’t mean that he was responsible for the deaths. ACP points out that while the encounter was on, both Purvi and Ajit were injured but only Purvi had fainted due to poisoning and not Ajit. This was because Ajit had taken the antidote to the poison, because he was aware that the trees in that area in the jungle were poisoned.
Ajit is cornered and tries to escape. Sachin chases and catches him.

Scene : Bureau -Confession
Ajit confesses that he was responsible for killing animals and selling their parts. He admits to have killed Mevaram and Tarun as they had started suspected him.
ACP delivers the phaasi dialogue.
