Chhavi Pandey quits; Ek Boond Ishq set to take a leap

It happens. Contracts end, actors move on but most of the time, shows go on.

This news can very well prove to be a mini heartache for the avid followers of Life OK’s popular show Ek Boond Ishq (BBC Worldwide).

The characters of the protagonists, Mrutyunjay (Viraf Patel) and Tara (Chhavi Pandey) have found a space in the hearts of television lovers.

So good was the chemistry that rumours cropped up about Viraf and Chhavi being a couple in real life too.

But the road has come to an end for charismatic Chhavi in the show. The lovely lady will no longer put on make-up and don nice dresses to entertain viewers in Ek Boond Ishq.

We let our credible source do the talking: “The creative team at Ek Boond Ishq has chalked out a leap sequence and Chhhavi was required to play a mom post the jump. She was not comfortable hence decided to put down her papers.”

Oh… the same good old ‘mother’ of all problems for young TV actresses!!!

What we have heard is that Chhavi’s replacement will be brought in and the casting process is currently on.

We tried getting in touch with Chhavi but she remained unavailable for comment.

Male protagonist, Viraf Patel asked us to call back later as he was busy.

When contacted writer and producer Saba Mumtaz, she said, “Well, the show is not taking a leap. It is a change of a particular scene…I am sorry I cannot give out any details.”
