We in talks with Sumona Chakravarti….
The cute and bubbly Sumona Chakravarti, who plays the role of Natasha in the Sony TV’s daily soap Bade Acche Laggte Hai, in talks with us…
Let’s have a look at what she said…
Tell us something about your journey in this industry?
It has been a long one indeed. I started as a child artist, in Aamir Khan and his brother starrer ‘Maan’. In fact I also did a lot of ads. I got projects in hand but I used to take breaks in between since education was equally important to me. However, when I turned 16 I realized that it was the field of acting that I wanted to pursue and it all started from there.
What does acting mean to you?
Acting means portraying the emotions of a character in such a way that it looks real enough. It should not look as if it is being acted, but should come out naturally from within.
Which type of roles would you want to essay in the future?
There is nothing specific in my mind but surely the ones which are challenging in nature. They should definitely help me push myself and take it to the next level.
Tell me something about Bade Acche Laggte Hai?
Being on the sets of Bade Acche Laggte Hai is a lot of fun. I am happy doing the show too. The team has become like one big happy family and going on the sets feels like home now.
Tell us about your journey in Comedy Circus?
I am grateful to Bade Acche Laggte Hai that I got an opportunity to do Comedy Circus. It has been the best experience till date for me. It is totally a stress free show and has amazing people too(comedians). The journey has ineed been beautiful and challenging at the same time since most of the times we don’t have the script with us.
How was it being a part of the film Barfi?
The movie was like a workshop for me. Observation of the performance given by actors is a learning process in itself.Ileana is a fantastic actor and I am falling short of words to describe Priyanka and Ranbir’s performance in the movie. It made me learn a lot and I am glad that I was a part of it. The film is nominated for the Oscars which is a big achievement in itself.
A quote you follow in life and why?
‘Love means never having to say you are sorry’. This is a quote from ‘Love Story’ by Eric Segal. It is a very meaningful quote. It doesn’t mean that this quote goes with two lovers but is applicable to all the relationships that exist in your life.
