Balika Vadhu to revisit their main concept of ‘child marriage’ with Sriti Jha’s entry

Colors’ long running show Balika Vadhu, produced by Sphere Origins will revisit their main concept of ‘child marriage’ with the entry of Sriti Jha in the show. A lot has been written in the media about Sriti Jha’s big entry in the long-running show. We hear that the actress has shot for the promo yesterday (26 December) and will start shoot soon.

Sriti will be playing the character of Ganga, a girl who has been subjected to child marriage early in her life and is a young mother. Her in-laws want possession of her kid and have been troubling her, and this is when the ‘mother’ in the lady rises to the challenge to save her kid. And this is exactly what will be the crux of the promo that Sriti will be featuring in.

Our source tells us that Sriti aka Ganga will be seen running away with her kid, and this is when Jagya (Shashank Vyas) will appear before her. Ganga with a ‘mashal’ in hand will convey that she can do anything for the safety of her kid.

Sounds interesting, isn’t it? So what happens to Anandi aka Pratyusha Banerjee? Well as per our previous report, Pratyusha was all set to leave Balika Vadhu, but the channel has managed to somehow convince her to stay back. However, with Anandi now moving into her new abode i.e. Shiv’s (Siddharth Shukla) house, the track will now focus on Jagya and Ganga’s lives, and of course on Jagya’s family.

We tried contacting Sriti Jha but she remained unavailable for comment.

While we welcome Sriti Jha into the show, it is to be seen how Anandi’s character is handled from now on…
