Being a part of historical show:
“You cannot mess around with your character when you are doing historicals. The story in historical shows you what is going to happen unlike the daily soaps where the story changes any moment. For 8 to 9 years I have done daily soaps which have their own charm and historicals have their own charm. Historical shows portray you in a very grand way and I love to be seen like this.”
On being a part of Balaji Telefilms:
“Balaji is like home to me and I am most comfortable working with this production house. It is like coming home for shooting. When you get to work with Balaji you know it is something which will turn out to be huge. Ekta is an amazing producer and she chooses the cast very well. Following the same she has done a great casting for Jodha Akbar too.”
About wearing heavy clothes:
“Heavy clothes have never been a problem for me as I never let them become an problem. If you start thinking of the heavy clothes than you won’t be able to concentrate on your work.”
On playing a Mughal again:
“In Veer Shivaji and Prithviraj Chauhan I played a Mughal and here once again it is the same. I feel since my ancestors are from Karachi, I have those looks in me (smiles) which match these characters.”
On working with Rajat Tokas:
“I and Rajat shared a great chemistry during Prithviraj Chauhan, he is a great actor. When I heard he is there in the show I decided to do it.”
His experience of shooting for a few episodes:
“Audience is always ready to watch television and the story of Akbar is fabulous. So far the shoot has been amazing and I am sure later on too it will be the same. With Rajat as Akbar it is sure to be bang on. Paridhi who is working as Jodha though is a new girl in telly town but is very confident when it comes to acting and the supporting cast too is superb.”
Far distance set up for shoot:
“My show set up is in Karjat, hence it is very hectic to travel all the way till there but I am managing till now. However later I have thought of staying there for 2 days and then coming home in between which will be more convenient for me.”
