Anurag Nigam gets back to television with a “cool-dude” role in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta…

Actor Anurag Nigam who was last seen in Imagine TV’s Sarvgunn Sampann had been on a hiatus from television for few years. The actor who was pre-occupied with certain prior commitments gets back to the small screen with Director’s Kut’s long-running show on Star Plus, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

He will be seen in a dashing role, that of a good-looking and young Maths teacher who has it in him to impress girls. He teaches Maths at the coaching class where Chikki (Navika Kotia), the adopted daughter of the Singhania household attends. Ankit, essayed by Anurag falls flat for Chikki and starts to send her gifts and flowers anonymously. He also stalks her as he is smitten by her good looks. As the story goes on, he will reveal to Chikki that he is the one who has been stalking her and sending her gifts. Chikki too will develop a liking for the man.

When contacted, Anurag Nigam confirmed his entry in Yeh Rishta saying, “Yes, it is great to be back to TV. I cannot get a better comeback than Yeh Rishta. It is one of the most popular ongoing shows at the moment. I play a young Maths teacher who is a cool dude, is a favourite of all girls in the coaching class. The guy develops a liking for Chikki and this is where my track starts.”

Talking further, Anurag said, “This role in Yeh Rishta is a cameo. I am open to challenging roles on TV and would call this as my second innings.”

Anurag has already started shooting for the show, and his entry will air very soon. The actor has earlier done shows like Shakira on UTV Bindass, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Karam Apna Apna, Santaan, Prithviraj Chauhan.
