Amrit Manthan to shut in the next 3-4 months – Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK
Life OK Show Amrit Manthan (Director’s Kut) is all set to bid adieu in the coming months. Yes, media has already reported on the show shutting down, but we have confirmed reports on when curtains will finally come down on Amrit Manthan.
We caught up with Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK, at the launch of their project, The Bachelorette India – Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika and he said, “Amrit Manthan has reached its logical conclusion. We don’t know how long it will last. I don’t see it running more than the next 3-4 months. Anyways, we never run shows for 3 to 4 years. And this property has aired for a year, so it’s good enough.”
When we rang up the lead of the show, Adaa Khan, she had a different take on the whole thing. “We have got an extension of 4 months. There was a constant buzz that the show will go off right now due to low numbers hence the news of extension is good. And if what you are saying is correct then I guess we will finish our journey then. It is always tough to perform at the 7.30 pm slot on Life OK.”
Producer Rajan Shahi when told about Ajit’s comment said, “He knows the best. But officially I have been told by Mr. Ajit Thakur that they see AM (Amrit Manthan) as a major player in the coming months and have full faith in the show and have told personally they have no plans to shut it down.”
The rumour mills were abuzz that Amrit Manthan had lost its grip when it was shifted to the 7.30 pm slot to accommodate Savitri.
