Afsar Bitiya 10th September 2012 Written Update

Part One
It begins with the auditions for the contest of Mr. and Mrs. Bhagalpur. PIntuji and two others are there for the screening of the couples who have assembled to take part. One of them is worried that they still have not found one couple whom they could short list for the contest. The other person says they still have many forms and maybe they do find the right one soon. Pintuji too tells them softly that there are many participants waiting outside and they will surely find someone’.

Now begins the auditions with one by one a lot of couples who really look comical’..(not going into details) and nowhere near eligible to participate leave alone winning the contest!!! The highlight of this part was the expressions on Pintuji’s face as he was trying to control his laughter”.One dialogue that I have to mention here is when one husband keeps on telling the reason why they considered themselves right for the contest and Pintuji had to remind him ‘ do minute saans toh le leejiy’meaning please take some breath for a couple of minutes at least’..this was too funny!!!!!

After some time one of the panel members says ‘ do we have the courage to see the next participant couple? Pintuji says very sweetly ‘ Sir, we have to call them’as there is a lot of crowd outside’ So reluctantly he says, “Call them then’.”

Part Two
Another couple comes and says that they are married for 35 years and being together for so long is greater than climbing Mt. Everest and they get into a tiff’..and then they console each other sweetly’ Pintuji smiles and the other panelists also feel they truly love each other and can take part’.(found their first participant’..) Then again we have a lot of comical characters’..coming’.and going’. Obviously without being selected’..One of them get into a physical tiff too and Pintuji had to intervene ‘to stop them’..

The head panelist is really upset that they had kept a prize money of one and a half lakh for the winner but the way things are it looks like the contest is going to be a complete washout! One of them feels sad that he was unmarried as if he were married he would have surely won the contest’.Then he looks at Pintuji and says ‘ You are married. Why don’t you take part in the contest? At least we will get one good couple’. But Pintuji says – a manager cannot take part’. But the other person says you are not the judge and you can take part’..now just start your preparations for the contest’

Pintuji is contemplating about it’ He thinks if I do take part and win the prize money, I can help Ravi with his contract and also help Krishna procure her books for the IAS preparations’..there is no harm in trying’.I will have to talk to Krishna’

Here Krishna comes home and Chanchal asks if she has got her books”Manisha says we will talk about your books later, let us first see if she has got her books ‘..Chanchal is happy with her books and Krishna is about to leave. Manisha stops her and asks her to show her books’. Krishna shows some two old second hand books’.. She wants to know why she has got those? Manisha wonders why she did not get new ones ‘ was the money not sufficient enough? Also she wanted to know that she had a longer list of books ‘ where were the other books’.. Krishna tells her that they were not available and she will get it after 4 ‘ 5 days. She says ok

Enters Pintuji and calls out to Krishna’She is surprised and wants to know if he did not go to work that day as he had come home at an odd hour’..Manisha then asks Pintuji that they were supposed to have an audition on that day and what happened to that? Then Pintuji is going all around to look for Maaji ‘ Chanchal says she has gone to the temple”Krishna wants to know what happened?
In one go he says “You know what I want that you and me should take part in the Mr. and Mrs. Bhagalpur contest!”‘.Krishna can believe what she heard’..( but we all are super excited!) Chanchal is really excited and says that would be so much fun’.Krishna declines’.. Pintuji smartly says “I knew she would reject this proposal’ see how well I know and understand her’.And if we already know each other so well from before it means we are the best Jodi’..already’.we will surely win! So we must participate in this contest'”
(We already declared you two as the winners here…)

Krishna says she can’t do all this’.. Pintuji tells her “a contest is a contest ‘ whether it be an IAS contest or a Mr. and Mrs. Bhagalpur contest! When you are ready to face such a big contest of the country then why are you getting scared of these small contests? ( DBPS music’.)
( Pintuji was so clever here…in trying to convince his wife…a must watch!)

Krishna says ‘ No! and Mansiha and Chanchal are sad’..Chanchal quickly goes to Durga mata and prays that “please ask her to say yes then I will fast during Navaratri!” Krishna pulls her ear and says stop this drama’..Maniisha wants to know how Pintuji got the idea of participating when he was only a manager there’.Pintuji tells her that winning the contest would mean getting one and half lakh which can be used to help Ravi in his contract and also get Krishna her books’..Krishna interrupts him to say that it is not necessary that they only win the contest! All are sad’

Pintuji tells her that she had not seen the other participants who had come for the audition’ had she seen she would have been convinced that they would only win the contest! Krishna tells him that she cannot do all this and all that she can do is study!!!! Manisha tries to convince Krishna as if they win all their problems will be resolved instantly – if only she agrees’.. All request her to agree’..including Pintuji’.Chanchal goes to the extent of calling her as behaving like an oldie”she reminds her that they were married for less than a year now’..Life should have spice right? Krishna shuts up Chanchal’.She says I have once said no that means no’..(period!)

Part Three
Pintuji and Manisha are sad’Manisha looks at her mobile and leaves the room’.Pintuji walks to Krishna and tells her not to decide in a hurry and she should take her own sweet time before she decides’.Let her think at leisure while he goes to finish some of his work’ He adds that he is going with the hope that she will say yes finally’..Krishna wonders what all Pintuji keeps thinking’..( abhi tak nahi samjhi ki it is about her and her alone!!!)

As he is leaving, Ravi sees him and wants to know what he said ‘ could he arrange for the money? Krishna tells “No he has not been able to arrange for money as yet’.” Ravi is worried and Krishna tells him that Pintuji will surely find a way out’.. Ravi feels bad that he is not able to help out his family”He feels his destiny does not help him’. Is always is a failure’. Krishna asks him not to lose hope in himself and God. She tells him it is a trying time and they should try to face these difficulties with fortitude’. Chanchal gets some water for him’ Ravi says he understands what she is trying to say’Krishna encourages him to be confident and that all will be well’.all of them are with him’..

BDP are at their dining table and Pinky is upset. Bihari wants to know what happened. She tells him that she could not find the original envelope with the IAS form! All of them are worried!
