Actor Karan Jotwani talks about his role and journey till now in conversation with us.

He is dashing and young. He essays the role of Vivaan Swaika in Life OK’s popular show Laut Aao Trisha. Yes we are talking about handsome Karan Jotwani who is gaining appreciation for his role in the show.

In conversation with us, Karan speaks about his early days, journey in the show and much more…

Let’s see what Karan has to say-

How has your experience been being in this television industry till now and how has life changed?

Well I quite love my job. Like I said, no clue about how life will turn out here on and at least today I don’t know what I want, but I find my answers daily not knowing what I want, ironically. I loved modelling; I built a physique at one point for it. Had a fetish for ramp modelling until I realized that one has to be minimum 6 feet plus and at 5.11 inches I was like man, this one inch did pinched me (laughs aloud)! I started off with the episodic Gumrah on Channel V last October, and was picked to do a cameo for Bade Ache Lagte Hain, where I gained the confidence to really hone myself as an actor. Various episodic and ads, and then Laut Aao Trisha happened. It’s a different experience, a different high when you perform well, and life hasn’t changed much, it’s just that my mom has started watching TV again for me and a lot of friends never expected me to get into this considering I’m a local Bombay boy.

How is your experience working in Laut Aao Trisha?

It’s a rich cast with fabulous people, and two of my favorite actors in it are Eijaz Khan and Rajeshwari Sachdev. They’re inspiring and that leads to me by motivating myself. Abhilash Kumar (who plays my cousin) and I have formed a crazy bond, and we have a ball while shooting. My mother on the show Adita Wahi, who clearly hates me calling her mom and my father Jiten Lalwani are good actors. It’s been a great experience, and I found a dear dear director here who I adore, Nandita ma’am. She let’s me evolve and experiment with my role which makes me feel great since I’m a newcomer and most newcomers don’t get that kind of creative freedom.

Different Productions houses have different environment so is it easy to adjust?

I’ve worked previously majorly with Balaji, and this being a new production house, it’s a good and different taste. You should as an actor be accommodating towards different people you work with, adjusting is just an expression, the real thing is performing.

What kinds of preparations do you for your character?

It’s crazy, but I’ve done varied roles, and when I look back I’m like how did I just manage to do that? I surprise myself sometimes. I like calling for a script before and reading it to know who I’m changing into next. I just zone out, and come back when ready to roll.

There are so many similar kinds of shows running on TV. So how to do you choose the shows offered to you?

I’m very new to this field, so shows are clearly not offered as such, like calls come in for auditions. Laut Aao Trisha is different, it cannot be compared to any other show. My next aim is to hopefully do a youth based show. A strong production house plus a great story is like a huge turn on, professionally. I could say let whatever has to happen, happen, but I believe in making it happen.

Who has been your favorite co-star till now and why?

I haven’t acted with many, but Eijaz khan and Abhilash Kumar on Laut Aao Trisha. Fenil Umrigar is a great friend and I shared good chemistry with her in bade. Apart from that Priyal Gor who I shared space with in MTV Webbed. I get an itching to meet more actors and perform with them in the near future.

How do you feel about the feedback you get from the fans?

I’m overwhelmed with the fans who’ve maybe by mistake caught me on TV and messaged me saying hey good job. It feels good, can you stop it! Haven’t really faced any criticism, but even when I do, it helps me grow a little. I love them all.

What message would you like to share with your fans?

Firstly, please don’t call yourself a fan, I’m your friend, because you’re a human before the profession that makes you who you are, and I try very hard to reach out and respond to each one of you individually so forgive me if I’ve missed out on some of you. But I love you awesome people. Thank you for the love, and it’s unbelievable that I have some attention in such little time, but I’m like the one who get too excited.

We wish Karan good luck for his future endeavors!
