Adaalat 29th July 2012 Written Update

Episode opens and a young lady Rinku is crushed under a four wheeler. Police investigates and talks to the accused, Mrs. Kirti Mistri. She explains everything in a flashback –
Kirti comes in the basement from the 9th floor dragging a big suitcase. She’s talking to her mother and the suitcase is for her as she’s going to USA, to her elder daughter aka Kirti’s sister.

Kirti gets in her car and accelerates in reverse direction. A lady’s scream is heard and she’s accidently crushed twice.

Kirti further reveals that Rinku was their maid. She further states she doesn’t know from where Rinku came under her vehicle as she goes to pick up their children at this time. Policeman admits she has committed a mistake and asks her to come to police station.

Kirti’s husband Mohit Mistri takes this case to KD who offers him to contact an advocate friend of him as this is an accident case. Mohit tells him that police is claiming it’s an intentional murder.

In the court, Jaisawal begins and says Rinku was crushed three times by Kirti and claims it’s a cold blooded intentional murder. KD questions why Kirti would kill her maid when there was nothing wrong between them. Kirti supports his statement and admits Rinku was like a part of their family. Jaisawal utters she was considering herself as a part of the family and plays the building lift footage.

The building secretary Wadia was shown talking to Rinku and after sometimes he forwarded a card that Rinku didn’t take. KD notices something and calls Wadia in the witness box. He tells him that Rinku was scared while he was talking to her and especially when he forwarded a card. Wadia in his defense says that Rinku wanted to learn English and so he was offering his friend’s visiting card, he runs a coaching. KD asks whether he was offering something else. Wadia rejects this.

Jaisawal continues and plays the footage from the point when Kirti got inside the lift after twenty minutes Rinku and Wadia left. She’s shown dragging the suitcase. Jaisawal asks whether the suitcase had something as she was dragging it. Kirti tells him there were some cloths in that. Jaisawal further questions why she was crying and KD objects on the current question and its relation with the case.

Jaisawal persists and claims she was crying since she was leaving the residence. It’s revealed that she fought with her husband Mohit. Jaisawal calls Rinku’s friend Alice in the witness box. She tells the court that she works in the same building, in Mr. and Mrs. Jagirdar’s house and frequently met Rinku when they both went to the park with children. She discloses that two days prior to Rinku’s death she showed a golden chain to her given by Mohit and asked her not to tell anyone particularly her madam as Mohit and she will be in hitch.

Jaisawal tells the court that the chain is worth 12,000. He calls Mohit in the witness box. Jaisawal reveals to Mohit that a man’s skin has been discovered in Rinku’s nails but the DNA report regarding the person is still pending. Mohit claims he had no off beam intentions and it isn’t a sin to give a gift to someone. Jaisawal tells him it’s wrong if someone’s wife isn’t aware. Mohit tells him he had told his wife about it. Kirti accepts and says she was the one who selected the chain.

Jaisawal reminds them about Alice’s statement and claims no lady can endure this and neither Kirti did. The clock strikes 5.

KD thinks about the case and decides to check Mohit’s pockets.

Varun arrives at the building and faces Wadia first. He notices his misbehavior with a lady and they both get inside the lift. Varun meets Mohit and shows him his credit card and hotel papers; he had booked a room for some Mrs. Sethi. Varun questions regarding his relationship with Rinku. Mohit reveals that he had an affair but not with Rinku, with his old girlfriend Nisha. His wife went to office and he remained at home since he’s a writer. Rinku knew about his affair and helped him screen the reality from his wife. One day Kirti came before time and discovered the truth, they fought and she decided to leave the house. Varun asks whether he’s convinced his wife is innocent as she and Rinku were the only people present in the basement. Mohit tells him he’s puzzled and rejects how his wife is in danger because of him.

Varun tells KD that Rinku stayed in the same flat and had no friend or enemy except Alice. KD asks Varun to play the video footage. He gets his stopwatch and notices the time taken by Rinku and Kirti to reach the basement. Time taken by Kirti was 01:12 while it was 01:22 in Rinku’s case. KD notices the ten second difference. Varun wonders why the difference is, as lift’s speed is same. KD utters that lift stops for ten seconds on each floor and concludes Rinku was on the 11th floor and hence she took ten seconds longer to reach the basement. Varun wonders what she was doing on the 11th floor. KD tells him Alice’s house must be on that floor.

Varun meets the watchman and observes the place where keys were placed of vehicles parked. He asks whether someone else took the keys before Kirti, watchman denies. Varun decides to check Kirti’s car. He gets in and smells the steering. After that, he enters the building and Alice arrives. They reach till the 11th floor where Wadia too stayed. Varun knocks his door; he opens but refuses to answer any query and shuts the door as soon as a lady calls him.

Varun knocks Jargirdar’s door and Alice asks him to come in. He questions to Mrs. Jargirdar regarding Wadia. She tells him that he’s disliked by all and nobody gets ready to work in his house. He often called Rinku. Varun asks them if they saw Rinku on this floor the day she died. She replies she didn’t see. Her husband Naren comes and she ask the same question to him. He roughly looks at Varun and asks him to question Wadia as he often called her. Mrs. Jargirdar offers Varun tea and reveals she doesn’t know how to cook.

Court session begins. Naren is called in the witness box and KD asks him what he ate in lunch on Rinku’s murder day. He then leaves this question and reveals that his DNA matched with the skin found in Rinku’s nails. Naren accepts he had illegal relations with Rinku. KD claims he followed Rinku till the basement and crushed her twice using Kirti’s car.

Jaisawal expresses his doubt regarding Kirti’s vehicle keys with Naren and KD tells him that the keys are hung there so duplicating isn’t a tough job. Naren defends himself and says he didn’t kill Rinku and neither followed her. Jaisawal raises his point and says Rinku would have been dead if she was crushed by Naren, then who screamed when Kirti reversed her car? KD claims any other lady screamed to make Kirti feel she killed Rinku.

He calls Mrs. Jagirdar in the witness box. In her defense she says she went to market that day and got to know about Naren’s relation right now. She further admits she understood why Alice asked her to stay at home. It’s disclosed that they ate fish that day. KD utters she doesn’t know how to cook so Alice must have done everything. She accepts.

Alice is called in the witness box. KD is about to question her something but she answers she doubted Naren and Rinku’s relation even before KD’s query was complete. He then asks her about the fish and she admits she only washed and cut it. KD tells her he wants to smell her hands. Alice seems confused and KD clarifies he isn’t going to kiss them. Alice forwards her hands and KD after taking the smell, concludes she has cut onion right now.

He then claims she doesn’t wash her hands properly, she removed her marks from Kirti’s car but forgot to remove the smell of fish. Alice defends her and says she went to garden with kids. KD decides to question the kids but Alice objects and asks him not to drag her kids in the court. KD gets the statement and claims Alice considered Jargirdar family her own and hence killed Rinku to save its reputation.

Alice confesses that she tried to explain Rinku but she failed to understand. With the help of duplicate key, she got inside Kirti’s car and ran the vehicle against her. She was the one who screamed when Kirti reversed her car.
