Public Prosecutor KD Pathak – Part 2

Rathore is shown talking with a man whose face wasn’t exposed earlier. He’s revealed to be a builder, Sodi. Rathore tells him they were safe till now due to Pachori but aren’t anymore. Sodi utters he’ll do something to KD and prove him mistaken.

Scene alters to two men of the Registrar office. One of them is Bhajan Singh who seems to be fuming over the actuality that KD is defending Sudhir.

Tripathi starts his bike and is disturbed as he is trapped in the case again, as a witness. Then scene shifts to Natrajan who asks for one month leave and says his mother is serious. Tatya, is shown crying in his house.

Pachori is shown smiling in an evil manner with a bag packed with money. He utters his job is over and he’ll go back to his village.

Court session begins and Pachori is in the witness box. KD reveals he registered a plot two days ago and paid around 12.5 Lakhs. Pachori denies and says he paid just 3 Lakhs. KD tells him that the plot owner Shyamlal revealed the actual amount to be 12.5 Lakhs cash, in a written statement of his. KD questions from where he managed such a large amount. Pachori somehow manages to utter his friend’s name from whom he got the amount, Pankaj. KD asks him to call Pankaj. Pachori tries his best to avoid him as he was trapped but KD snatches his phone and dials the number. Pankaj picks up the phone and Pachori quickly cuts that.

He reveals that he got the money from builder Sodi. The builder comes in the witness box. KD exposes that some papers that were against him, got burnt in the fire produced by the blast. He asks the reason behind giving money to Pachori and claims he gave the amount to him so that he could lose the case. Sodi declares that he can’t be blamed without any proof.

KD calls Shastri in the witness box that had spotted the lighter when he bumped with Sudhir. KD asks if he saw Sudhir using the lighter. Shastri replies he didn’t.

Next to come is Natrajan. KD questions if he saw Sudhir throwing the bomb inside the office. Natrajan repeats Shastri’s reply.

KD concludes that another bomb was dropped inside the office and not the one that Sudhir had got. Sudhir reveals he had left the bomb in the bushes. The prosecutor says there was no bomb found by police in the bushes. He further raises the point related to t shirt strip found in the used bomb.

KD calls Sudhir’s wife in the witness box. He asks whether the t-shirt was old or new. She replies that was new and they purchased it just a week ago. KD makes sure that she lives on the first floor and asks where she places her cloths after washing. She tells him that cloths are hung outside the window. KD states that anyone can easily steal cloths from that place. Sudhir’s wife then reveals that she washed the shirt and bag same day and they both vanished.

KD calls Tatya in the witness box. He questions about his eye sight and Tatya claims he saw Sudhir and his eye sight is clear. KD requests the lights to be switched off and calls someone in the dark. Inspector Dave approaches and introduces himself as Manohar Shinde. Tatya makes out that he’s Dave. Lights are switched on and KD is stunned. The prosecutor gets a strong point and he claims Tatya saw Sudhir as right now he identified Dave from a distance of 15 feets. Sudhir too, is standing shocked and wonders how Tatya spotted Dave.

In the office, Varun discusses something related to Tatya while KD keeps on uttering terms like, Mitti ka tail, Kerosene oil, Ghaslette. He figures out that the man who asked Tatya for kerosene oil had addressed that as,”Mitti ka tail”. Usually Marathi people don’t use this term and Tatya and Sudhir both are Marathi, so the person who went to his house wasn’t Marathi.
Someone is shown preparing the same kerosene bomb.

KD then thinks how Tatya’s vision became alright. Varun decides to go and find out. KD begins to examine a file.

Varun discovers about Tatya’s cataract operation through an eye drop and specs placed there. Tatya accepts this and at the same time admits he won’t expose the truth as the person who is responsible for this operation has threatened him. Varun somehow manages to convince Tatya. Tatya clarifies he won’t live under fear and knows who threatened him.
Someone drops a bomb in KD’s office through window. KD quickly extinguishes the fire using his foot and smiles after spotting fingerprints on the bottle.

In the court, he calls Bhajan Singh and reveals he threw a kerosene bomb inside his office. His fingerprints are on the bottle as well as on the outer wall of his office. Bhajan Singh admits and reveals he wanted KD to leave this case. KD accuses he was the one who threw the kerosene bomb inside the registrar office. Bhajan Singh rejects and declares he wasn’t the one who did that. KD questions who asked him to throw a bomb in his office. Bhajan Singh blames Rathore.

Tatya comes in the witness box and reveals that Rathore entered his house and threatened him. He gave him money for his cataract operation and forced not to tell anyone else he will be killed. He says sorry to Sudhir.

Rathore is in the witness box and he accepts Tatya’s claims. He reveals that he wanted Sudhir to remain trapped as the doubt would have shifted to him. KD claims he was the one behind that blast. Rathore defends himself and says he wasn’t present in the office at that time. KD guesses he knew about the fire and hence went away after calling Sudhir. Rathore denies the fact that he had called Sudhir. KD tells him that call was made from his cabin as per the phone records. Rathore again repeats he didn’t call him and neither went to demand for kerosene. He blames Sodi. Sodi fails to tolerate and shouts at Rathore.

Sodi comes in the witness box and KD tells him he’ll be punished for corruption. Sodi blames Natrajan and reveals that he had fought with Natrajan due to some promotion issues.
Natrajan comes in the witness box and denies Sodi’s claims that he would do such an act just for the sake of promotion. KD asks him where he was at the time of blast. Natrajan replies he went to take lunch. KD further says his lunch usually is homemade and remains on the table itself but the case wasn’t similar on the day of blast. KD additionally declares he knew about the blast. Natrajan defends himself and reveals that Shastri had complained against Rathore and he was the witness.

Shastri comes in the witness box and confirms. Through his conversation with KD, he addresses kerosene oil as “Mitti ka tail” and KD even gets to know he entered Rathore’s office. He claims that he was the one who called Sudhir as Rathore. Just a moment after, he reveals that the person who went to Tatya’s house, addressed kerosene as “Mitti ka tail” and none of the witnesses did so but Shastri. Shastri rejects his theory.

KD reveals that someone saw him there, Sudhir’s son Adarsh. The prosecutor questions from where the boy saw Shastri. KD reveals he spotted Shastri from the corner of his door that’s just in front of Tatya’s door. Annoyed by KD’s claims, Shastri in a hurry utters that Sudhir’s house is in the corner of the corridor and there’s a big wall between his and Tatya’s door so how could the boy see him. He realizes what he just said and admits he is the one behind the blast.

He tells the court that he came from his village after selling a land and his wife’s ornaments. People like him usually get trapped due to corrupted men like Rathore. Rathore always demanded money from him and he was irritated to the core. One day he witnessed the fight between Rathore and Sudhir and made a plan. He collected information about them and got to know Tatya has night blindness. He stole t shirt and bag and made the bomb. He was the one who called Sudhir from Rathore’s table and then threw the bomb inside. The bottle that Sudhir had left in the bushes, he removed that. He collided with Sudhir on his own will. At the end Shastri declares that this is the revenge of a common man.

KD explains that all the people who got killed were common men like him and even Sudhir is identical. He rests the case.

The judge gives his judgment. Rathore, Sodi are arrested and Shastri gets life imprisonment sentence. Sudhir is free.
